  • Publication number: 20060016317
Abstract: A tuning post for a guitar having a first and second restraining means for receiving and retaining a guitar string. The first and second string restraining means are in a spaced arrangement and allow the tuning post to be rotated to tune the string.

  • Patent number: 5311804
Abstract: A vibrato arm mounted on a floating bridge of a string instrument is adapted to engage an anchor seat attached to the body of the instrument, in order to lock the bridge in its centered position when the vibrato arm is parked. When the arm is moved to the play position, a cam arrangement raises the arm out of the anchor seat and frees the bridge for vibrato movement. A single adjustment of the riser on the vibrato arm selects both the desired park position and the vertical engagement position of the arm. The seat-engaging arm end and the seat itself are tapered to guide the arm into centered position. The anchor seat is eccentrically and linearly adjustable for precise centering of the bridge.

  • Patent number: 4709612
Abstract: A nut for stringed instruments which allows unimpeded movement of the strings within the grooves of the nut for accurate and stable tuning. The nut includes grooves which are flared outwardly and downwardly in the direction of the body of the instrument beyond the support point of the string. The string is supported on rollers which are freely rotatable within the nut, and whose surface protrudes into the grooves to support the strings. The rollers may be circumferentially grooved to maintain the strings in lateral alignment on the nut, and in one embodiment of the invention, they may be of different diameters so as to maintain a constant spacing between each string and a cambered fingerboard.

  • Patent number: 4681010
Abstract: A vibrato device for guitars which is easily omnidirectionally adjustable by a clamp screw and a pivot screw concentric therewith, both conveniently accessible from the rear of the device, and by elevation screws mounted in the string-supporting saddles and conveniently accessible from the top of the device. The brass saddles are provided with a steel block insert for improved resonance and damping, and the control lever can be conveniently either locked in one position, or allowed to swing freely, at any time during play. The device is provided with self-centering straight knife-edge bridge pivots. The free ends of the strings are clamped to the bottom of a steel sustain block depending from the bridge of the device, and the clamp screws for both the strings and the lateral saddle position adjustment are turnable with coins.
