Abstract: A communication server to facilitate modification of records in a domain name system (DNS) server comprises a session initiation protocol (SIP) network interface, a DNS network interface, and a processing system. The SIP network interface is configured to receive a SIP information message comprising a DNS modification indicator. The processing system is configured to, responsive to the DNS modification indicator, process the SIP information message to identify DNS modification parameters in the SIP information message, and process the DNS modification parameters to generate a DNS modification command for the DNS server. The DNS network interface is configured to transfer the DNS modification command for delivery to the DNS server.

Abstract: A wireless communication network to route data communications. The wireless communication network has wireless access systems and network gateway systems. The wireless access systems and network gateway systems store a plurality of routing instructions to direct the routing of the data communications within the wireless communication network. The wireless access systems and network gateway systems receive user instructions to add data tags to individual ones of the stored routing instructions. The wireless access systems and network gateway systems process the routing instructions to route the data communications. The wireless access systems and network gateway systems count the processing of the routing instructions having the stored data tags. The wireless access systems and network gateway systems transfer data records indicating the counts for the individual routing instructions having the stored data tags for delivery to a routing control system.

Abstract: A method of operating a communication system comprises, in a user identifier database system, identifying a failed registration attempt by a wireless communication device to register with a communication network based on a device identifier, identifying a routing system associated with the failed registration attempt, and transferring a data service message for delivery to the routing system, wherein the data service message comprises the device identifier, a service identifier, and instructions for a data session. The method further comprises, in the routing system, creating a temporary profile for the wireless communication device based on the service identifier and transferring the instructions for the data session for delivery to the wireless communication device.

Abstract: A call control system to route a voice over internet protocol call between a wireless communication device and a destination device comprises a communication interface and a processing system, wherein the destination device is located in a geographic area served by a communication network. The communication interface is configured to receive an authorization response from an authorization system located in a home wireless network of the wireless communication device, wherein the authorization response comprises a destination identifier of the destination device and a location identifier of the wireless communication device. The processing system is configured to process the destination identifier and the location identifier to determine if the wireless communication device is located in the geographic area, and if so, the processing system is configured to direct the communication interface to transfer the call over a source port associated with the geographic area served by the communication network.

The interface is configured to receive a hotline instruction from a customer of the communication carrier to enable a plurality of hotline features for a plurality of devices associated with the customer to route a plurality of calls from the plurality of devices to a plurality of hotline destinations, and receiving a first call request for a first call to a first intended destination from a first device of the plurality of devices. The processing system is configured to process the first call request to determine if a first hotline feature for the first device is enabled, and process the first call request to route the first call to a first hotline destination of the plurality of hotline destinations if the first hotline feature is enabled.

Abstract: A method of operating a communication network comprises receiving a call setup request from a calling party in a calling network to a called party in the communication network wherein the call requires an early media service provided by a service network to the called party, forwarding the call setup request to the service network wherein the service network returns a first call setup response in response to the call setup request, and generating a second call setup response and transmitting the second call setup response to the calling network wherein the calling network generates and transmits a call setup instruction to the calling party in response to the second call setup request.

Abstract: A method is provided for reserving trunks on a trunk group for designated class of service calls. The trunks available for a denominated class of service is specified, and the trunks remaining are enumerated and designated as of no class and available for all calls. When the no class trunks are in use and a new call is a denominated class of service, it is allocated to a trunk and the trunks available is reduced accordingly. If the no class trunks are in use and a new call is not of a denominated class of service, the new call is allocated to a further trunk group. When a call is released and the number available is reduced below a specified number, the number of available trunks increases. If the number of trunks available is not reduced below a specified number, the released trunk is made available for all calls.
