  • Patent number: 8229414
Abstract: A method of managing a pool of telephone numbers is provided. The method comprises a mobile switching center identifying an incoming voice call as a customer care call based on a dialing code sequence, establishing a memory entry associated with the voice call, and coupling the voice call to an over-the-air service provisioning server. The method further comprises the over-the-air service provisioning server allocating a telephone number from a pool of telephone numbers to the terminal and establishing a communication session with a customer service user interface. The method further comprises the mobile switching center detecting termination of the voice call and transmitting a notification of the termination of the voice call. The method further comprises the over-the-air service provisioning server, in response to the notification of the termination of the voice call, returning the telephone number to the pool of telephone numbers.
