Patent number: 12645103Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for solid-state 2D optical phased arrays (OPAs), which are fabricated from InGaN/AlGaN multiple quantum wells (MQWs) and AlyGa1-yN/AlxGa1-xN (y<x) MQWs. The InGaN/AlGaN MQWs and AlyGa1-yN/AlxGa1-xN (y<x) MQWs include alternating p-type and n-type layers to form p-n-p-n MQW structures to allow the OPA to operate in the reversed biased configuration to further minimize the operating current and heat generation. The phase in each pixel within the OPA will be controlled independently via electro-optic effect in III-nitride MQWs by varying the voltage in each pixel by a Si CMOS array to achieve the manipulation of the distribution of optical power in the far field and steering of the main laser beam. The present disclosure is applicable to a wide range of applications, including the operation of LIDAR systems, laser weapons, laser illuminators, and laser imaging systems.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2023Date of Patent: June 2, 2026Assignee: Texas Tech University SystemInventors: Hongxing Jiang, Changzhi Li, Jing Li, Jingyu Lin, Aaron Carman, Trey Smith

Patent number: 11826059Abstract: A drill guide to facilitate drilling a hole into a bone and inserting an anchor. The drill guide includes a handle extending to a proximal end and a guide shaft extending from the handle to a distal end. A recess extends into the handle at the proximal end. The drill guide also includes a channel extending through the recess and into the guide shaft and a contact surface extending from the recess. The contact surface may be a proximal surface on a ring extending circumferentially within the recess. The contact surface may alternatively be a proximal surface on a protrusion extending from and within the recess. For example, the protrusion is a triangular protrusion extending along the recess toward the channel. The contact surface allows for the use of inserters of varying sizes within the channel of the drill guide.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2021Date of Patent: November 28, 2023Assignee: Conmed CorporationInventors: Grady Breslich, Trey Smith

Publication number: 20170064240Abstract: A network-accessible computer comprises a network-communications interface configured to receive player-position data via a computer network. The player-position data indicates a multi-dimensional position for each of a plurality of players participating a sporting event. The network-accessible computer further comprises a logic machine configured to derive auxiliary information from at least the player-position data, the auxiliary information not included in the player-position data and indicating specific attributes for one or more of the plurality of players during a period of game activity in the sporting event. The logic machine packages the auxiliary information with the player-position data into a client-readable data package usable by a client computing device to construct a user interface visualizing at least the player-position data and auxiliary information. The logic machine sends the client-readable data package to the client computing device via the network-communications interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2016Publication date: March 2, 2017Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Preetinderpal Singh Mangat, Daniel Daigle, David Ferguson, Guillaume LaHaye, Michael Mahar, David Seymour, Trey Smith, Amardeep Tiwana, Simon Warrington

Publication number: 20060222155Abstract: A system for scheduling a conference between callers includes a database that stores scheduling information indicating at least a start time, a duration, and a maximum number of callers for one or more scheduled conferences, the scheduling information reflecting available conferencing resources. A server complex coupled to the database communicates, to a requesting Internet Protocol (IP) user, at least one page including one or more scheduling input fields. The server complex receives scheduling input from the requesting IP user for a requested conference according to the scheduling input fields. The server complex accesses the database to determine, according to the scheduling input, whether sufficient resources are available for the requested conference. If so, the server complex allocates at least some available resources to the requested conference and generates confirmations of the requested conference for communication to the callers.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2006Publication date: October 5, 2006Applicant: eMeeting.net, Inc.Inventors: J. Summers, Paul Harmon, Trey Smith
