An adjustable head securing device secures the unit to the user's head. Binoculars or other optics are attached to the head securing device such that they can be pivoted between an in-use and a not in-use position and can be adjusted for a user's eyes. The unit can also optionally contain removable earmuffs, a removable radio, removable earphone and/or a removable microphone as well as a laser pointer and/or rangefinder.
