  • Patent number: 5735338
Abstract: An air conditioning unit for a vehicle is inserted between an inlet conduit (12), supplied with fresh air and/or recycled air, and the passenger space of the vehicle. The unit comprises a fan (16) which supplies two conduits placed parallel, of which one (19) permanently heats the air by contact with a heating component (21, 22), the heated air being dispatched either into the passenger space, or towards the exterior with the aid of a valve (25). The other conduit (20) is opened or closed by a valve (27), according to whether one wishes to cool or to heat the passenger space. The heating component (21, 22) is thus permanently cooled, both when the passenger space is heated and when it is cooled.

  • Patent number: 5667030
Abstract: A heat exchanger for a motor vehicle cooling system includes a sleeve-like meter heretically mounted on, and surrounding, a hollow tubular chassis meter of the vehicle. The sleeve is provided with inlets and outlets communicating with the space between the sleeve and the chassis meter and vehicle coolant flows through the inlet and outlet. Air, flowing over the outside surface of the sleeve and the inside surface of the chassis meter, cools the vehicle coolant.

  • Patent number: 5486019
Abstract: The invention concerns an automotive vehicle. This vehicle comprises a dashboard (26), steering control handles (28) distanced from the dashboard (26), the dashboard comprising a compartment (32) closed by a flap (34) and in which is arranged a protective bag (36) of supple material at least partially gas-tight, the vehicle further includes a gas source (38), the bag (36) being coupled to the gas source (38) and one or more accelerometers for automatically releasing the gas source (38) in response to abnormal behaviour of the vehicle, in that the bag (36) may assume a folded first state in which it is entirely housed within the compartment (32) and an inflated second state in which it extends out of the compartment (32) and in that the bag comprises a central portion (46) which is arranged so as to spread out, in the inflated state, over substantially the entire area of the dashboard (26).

  • Patent number: 5369837
Abstract: The invention concerns a windshield wiper arrangement including a windshield wiper arm (2) the active length of which varies in the course of the sweeping movement, characterized in that it includes: motor means including a first motor shaft (26) given a first alternating rotation motion and a second motor shaft (34) given a second alternating rotation motion, the amplitude of the alternating rotation of the second shaft (34) being greater than that of the first shaft; a crank (24) coupled for rotation onto the second motor shaft on the one hand, and on the other hand articulated onto said arm (2); an arm support element (6) coupled for rotation onto the first motor shaft (26); and coupling means between the support element (6) and the arm (2) permitting a translation motion of the arm (2) on said support element (6) in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal dimension of the arm (2).
