  • Patent number: 10009681
Abstract: A headset cup having a front cavity and a rear cavity separated by a driver, with a mass port tube connected to the rear port to present a reactive acoustic impedance to the rear cavity, in parallel with a resistive port, the total acoustic response of the rear cavity remaining linear at high power levels. In some embodiments, the mass port tube is made of metal, while the headset cup is otherwise made of plastic.

  • Patent number: 9808064
Abstract: A headband that holds one or more earphones against the head of a wearer. The headband includes a slider that supports an earphone, a generally tubular cushion assembly that has an inside and an outside and that is engaged with the slider so as to allow relative movement of the slider and the cushion assembly, where the slider is located at least in part inside of the cushion assembly. A flexible cover is located over at least some of the outside of the cushion assembly, where the cover has an engaging portion that is located inside of the cushion assembly. A retaining member is located at least in part inside of the cushion assembly, where the engaging portion of the cover is located between the retaining member and the inside of the cushion assembly.

  • Patent number: 9723392
Abstract: Headphones that have one or two earphones. A headband carries the earphones such that they are held against the head of a wearer. A coupling member is located between the earphone and the headband, the coupling member pivotably mounted to the headband at a joint having a first axis around which the coupling member pivots, such that the earphone can be moved from a deployed position in which the earphone is positioned to be worn by the wearer to a stowed position in which the earphone is located closer to the headband than it is in the deployed position. A conductive cable runs from the earphone to the headband through the coupling member. The cable is held in place at a first anchor location in the headband, proximate the coupling member. There is slack in the cable between the first anchor location and the coupling member at least when the earphone is in the deployed position.

  • Patent number: 9288570
Abstract: A portable system for enhancing communication between users in proximity to each other while listening to a common audio source includes headsets with an electroacoustic transducer for providing sound to a respective user's ear, and a voice microphone for detecting sound of the respective user's voice and providing a microphone input signal, and an electronic device integral to the first headset and in communication with the second headset. The electronic device generates a side-tone signal based on the microphone input signal from the first headset, generates a voice output signal based on the microphone input signal from the first headset, receives a content input signal, combines the side-tone signal with the content input signal and a far-end voice signal associated with the second headset to generate a combined output signal, and provides the combined output signal to the first headset for output by the first headset's transducer.

  • Patent number: 9247335
Abstract: A wall separates a first volume from a second volume and has a hole allowing passage between the first volume and the second volume. A wire passes through the hole, and a gasket surrounds the wire at the hole. The gasket includes a first section including a groove between a first flange and a second flange, the groove has an outer diameter matched to the diameter of the hole and the flanges have outer diameters greater than the diameter of the hole. A second section adjacent the first flange includes a tubular portion having a diameter less than the diameter of the hole and a tapered section smoothly transitioning from the diameter of the tubular portion to the diameter of the first flange. The gasket prevents flow of fluid through the hole between the first volume and the second volume.
