  • Publication number: 20150117985
Abstract: A pipe conveyor apparatus for transporting a joint of pipe between a pipe storage rack and a rig floor elevated above the pipe storage rack. The apparatus includes at least two boom assemblies and a drive assembly. The boom assemblies are positioned such that booms are positioned in a spaced apart, parallel relationship relative to one another so that pipe support lugs of the booms are positioned to support at least two joints of pipe in a spaced apart and substantially horizontal position with the ends of the pipe positioned in a non-contact relationship with respect to the booms. The drive assembly is operably connected to the pipe support lugs in such a way that the pipe support lugs are movable in unison so as to move the joints of pipe between the proximal end and the distal end of the booms.

  • Patent number: 8864365
Abstract: A chemical mixing apparatus has a mixing tank having an inlet and an outlet, means for introducing a liquid into the mixing tank, and a tubular conveyor assembly having a first end and a second end. The second end of the conveyor assembly is sealably connected to the inlet of the mixing tank. A portable hopper having a sealable inlet and a sealable discharge conduit is detachably and sealably connected to the first end of the conveyor assembly such that a solid chemical contained in the chemical storage chamber of the portable hopper may be transported within the portable hopper from a remote location and conveyed from the portable hopper to the mixing tank without exposing the area surrounding the mixing tank to the solid chemical.

  • Publication number: 20140174261
Abstract: A power tong assembly and backup tong assembly are disclosed. The power tong assembly includes a drive motor driving a drive gear engaged with a rotatable portion of a bearing assembly. The rotatable portion of the bearing assembly is connected to a cylindrical rotor positioned concentrically about jaws that grippingly engage and rotate a first tubular member when the portion of the bearing assembly rotates. The backup tong assembly comprises a pair of diametrically opposed gripper assemblies each having a cylinder with a cylinder rod, connected to a head member, connected to a pair of gripper members with gripping surfaces, so that extension of the cylinder rods causes the gripper members to grippingly engage a second tubular member. The power tong assembly and the backup tong assembly may be concentrically aligned to connect and disconnect the first and second tubular members.
