  • Publication number: 20070098547
Abstract: A cooling fan comprising a fan housing and a plurality of blades rotatably disposed within a conduit through the fan housing. Each of the plurality of blades extends radially outward from a hub to a tip. The radial gap between the tips of the blades and the conduit defines a tip clearance. The cooling fan further comprises an tip clearance reduction system operable to control the tip clearance.

  • Publication number: 20050217019
Abstract: An emergency eye wash system having a support panel and a pair of brackets for holding two bag assemblies containing sterile and sealed eye wash solution. The bag assemblies are connected by hoses to a pair of nozzles mounted on a pivotal tray assembly. When the system is dormant, the tray assembly is in a vertical closed position. When there is an emergency, a user pulls on a pivotal handle to puncture membranes in the hoses and to lower the tray assembly to cause flow from the bags to the nozzles to the user's face.

  • Patent number: 6459580
Abstract: A cooling system for providing rapid and uniform cooling of a variety of objects. The cooling system utilizes a fan that cooperates with a heat sink to provide an active heat sink. Additionally, the arrangement of the heat sink and the fan provide a relatively uniform and linear airflow over the heat sink to provide uniform cooling.

  • Patent number: 6130822
Abstract: A drive bay opening in the front bezel portion of a tower type computer CPU unit is provided with a swing-out plastic access door. The door is pivotable between a closed position and a full open stop position in which it is outwardly pivoted more than ninety degrees away from its closed position. A specially designed concealed, break-away hinge structure removably interconnects the access door and front bezel portion and includes a pair of hinge arms projecting outwardly from the door and molded integrally therewith. Outer end tabs in the hinge arms have apertures therein that rotatably receive hinge pins within recessed pocket areas in the bezel. In the event that the access door is forcibly pivoted outwardly beyond its full open stop position, separate disconnect pins disposed laterally outwardly of the hinge pins act as cams that torsionally deflect the hinge tabs out of engagement with the hinge pins.

  • Patent number: 6125031
Abstract: A tower computer housing has a molded plastic exterior wall portion with an access opening therein, a molded plastic access door, and a specially designed hinge structure that supports the access door on the housing for pivotal movement relative thereto between closed and open positions in which the door respectively covers and uncovers the access opening. The hinge structure includes spaced pairs of hinge pins and cam arms molded integrally on opposite ends of the access door, and spaced apart first and second resilient mounting and spring tab sets molded integrally with the housing exterior wall portion. Each of these sets includes a resilient mounting tab having a mounting hole therein and positioned between an opposed pair of resilient spring tabs. The door pins are removably snap-fitted into the mounting tab holes, and each of the door cam arms is positioned between and slidingly engages a pair of the spring tabs.

  • Patent number: 6081422
Abstract: A computer system including a monitor which mechanically and electrically receives a peripheral device such as a camera. A top surface of the monitor includes a recessed portion into which the peripheral device mounts. A pair of tabs in the recessed portion engage recesses in the peripheral device securely affixing the peripheral device to the monitor. The monitor also includes an electrical connector that automatically mates with a connector on the peripheral device when the peripheral device is mounted in the recessed portion of the monitor, thereby establishing electrical connectivity between the peripheral device and the computer system. The mounting arrangement securely affixes the peripheral device and obviates the need for the user to connect the peripheral device to the computer by way of an external cable.
