  • Patent number: 7792948
Abstract: Systems and methods for network service management, wherein the internet service management system includes one or more components which collectively enable an administrator to obtain a site-wide view of network activities on servers such as web servers, FTP servers, e-mail servers, domain name servers, etc. In addition to collecting information relating to web server latency and processing time, the internet service management system may collect actual user transaction information and system information from end users on client computers. The internet service management system may provide domain summary information for a domain, or it may provide management information organized by “categories” according to how a site manager wants to view and manage his business; e.g., byline of business (books, auctions, music, etc.), by site function (searches, shopping cart, support, quotes, sales automation), or most any other categorization customers may choose.

  • Patent number: 7461369
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring the performance of client-server transactions from the perspective of a client. In one embodiment, a JARTA (Java Application Response Time Analyzer) component (which may include JavaScript) is installed on an end user's browser to collect various response time measurements and certain client system information and transmit this information to a server. A JARTA utility on the web server can manage the actions (e.g., insert, modify, and delete) associated with web pages that are ear-marked for JARTA testing at the client browser. The JARTA component may include a Java™ applet that can be downloaded to a client computer along with a web page. In one embodiment, a certain percentage of web transactions to be monitored can be designated using, e.g., a sampling algorithm.

  • Patent number: 5625781
Abstract: A uniquely programmed computer system, computer-implemented method, and computer readable memory embodying computer-readable detail logic direct a computer system to create a temporary list of links. The present invention creates the list of links without having to first open/visit the corresponding site to each link in the list or having to manually enter the name and address of the sites. The method includes placing the computer system in an itinerary mode, wherein the links lose their original function of opening/visiting the corresponding site when selected. The method includes displaying the list on a first portion of the display. The method includes selecting from a second portion of the display at least one link to be placed in the list. The method includes opening/visiting and displaying the site corresponding to the selected link on the second portion of the display in response to a selection of at least one link placed in the list.

  • Patent number: 5550970
Abstract: A method and system for allocating at least one resource among a plurality of processes. The method includes the computer-implemented steps of displaying a representation of a proportion of the resource that is allocated to a first process on a display and, in response to manipulating the representation, dynamically changing the proportion of the resource that is allocated to the first process.

  • Patent number: 5546520
Abstract: A method, system, and memory for reshaping a window are provided. The method includes the step of reshaping the frame of a window around information displayed in the window in accordance with a preference setting and in response to a command from user controls. The system includes a display for displaying information stored in a window, user controls, and a processor for reshaping the frame of the window around the information in response to a command from the user controls. The memory includes computer readable program code that is stored in the memory. The program code directs a computer system to reshape the frame of a window around information that is displayed within the window.

  • Patent number: 5515486
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a uniquely programmed computer system, and a memory embodying detailed logic for directing a computer system to independently rotate a polyhedron display container about several axis. The computer-implemented method includes the steps of displaying a panel container on a display and, in response to a first command from user controls to select a first front panel in the panel container, horizontally rotating the first front panel to a central column if the first front panel is not in the central column. The method also includes the step of in response to the first command to select a second front panel, vertically rotating the second front panel to the central row if the second front panel is not in the central row.
