Patent number: 11729591Abstract: A method and apparatus for differentiated service offerings based on a geo-location are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises: receiving geo-location information from a plurality of remote devices; generating one or more events in response to determining that the geo-location information for each remote device of the plurality of remote devices indicates that said each remote device has entered or exited one of a set of one or more geo-fences; and triggering an action with respect to said each remote device, the action for managing at least one service for said each remote device based on geo-location of the one or more remotes, including determining a level of service and/or type of service for said each remote based on its respective geo-location.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2022Date of Patent: August 15, 2023Assignee: Kymeta CorporationInventors: Neville Meijers, Paul Klassen, Troy Terry, Benjamin Posthuma

Publication number: 20210199811Abstract: System and methods are disclosed for automatically provisioning and commissioning an electronic device (“device”), such as a satellite modem coupled to a reconfigurable satellite antenna. The device is provisioned at a first location, e.g., at a manufacturing facility, using first provisioning data and first commissioning data that is sufficient for the device to establish a communication link with a network and a server having an activated user account. The first provisioning data and first commissioning data is based at least in part upon machine learning over a plurality of devices of a similar type. The device is then set-up and powered-on at a second location, e.g., an end-use location. The device connects to the network, logs in to the user account, and provides a serial number and the second location to the server. The server downloads second provisioning data this based at least in part upon the second location to the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2020Publication date: July 1, 2021Inventors: Troy Terry, Christian Miller, Paul Klassen, Paul Yahnig

Patent number: 8831585Abstract: Network communications, Web-based services and customized services using the Web-based services may be provided to drivers and users via the automobile head unit in the vehicle and via their mobile device. The automobile head unit in the vehicle and the mobile device are communicatively linked via a short range wireless connection. Also, these devices may communicate over a network such as a cellular network to a service provider that provides entertainment and informational services to the mobile device and the head unit of the vehicle. The user's profile and preferences are able to follow the user to various locations and into vehicles because this information is stored at a server accessible by the user's mobile device, and in some embodiments, also the head unit. The mobile device may provide services to the head unit if it does not have wider network connectivity over the short range wireless connection.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2013Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Nuance Communications, Inc.Inventors: Jonas Kolba Nicholson, Christopher Mark Dreher, Abbas Ali Vanak, Paul John Henry Klassen, Troy Terry, Alexander Kinlin, Ronald Otto Radko, Erik Andrew Clauson, Mark William Wigzell, Xiaobin Lu, Tomasz J. Publication number: 20070237428Abstract: A computer system and method for efficiently processing a digital image into reflow content is presented. The method comprises each of the following as executed on a computer. A digital image is obtained for processing. The digital image includes at least some content suitable for conversion into reflow content. The digital image is processed into a digital content file. The digital content file includes both reflow content and non-reflow blocks of content. For each non-reflow block of content in the digital content file, the following are performed. A determination is made as to whether the non-reflow block of content should be manually evaluated for editing. A manual evaluation is automatically triggered for editing if it is determined that the non-reflow block of content should be manually evaluated for editing.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2006Publication date: October 11, 2007Inventors: Robert Goodwin, Troy Terry, Adam Coath, Frederick Akalin, Joshua Shagam
