  • Patent number: 8790688
Abstract: A wound care device for local treatment of pain in a wound is provided. The device comprises an active pain relieving composition, which can also be an anti-inflammatory agent. The wound care device is suitable for treatment of pain in open wounds. The device can include small amounts of pain relieving compositions that are effective in relieving pain at the wound while not resulting in any systemic effects. The device may be in the form of a wound dressing, and the pain relieving composition may be delivered to the wound through a controlled release system.

  • Publication number: 20090036873
Abstract: A device for stimulating the healing of a wound comprises a separating means having a fluid inlet and a gas outlet. The separating means may constitute a collecting container for collecting fluid pumped from the wound. A pump for applying negative pressure comprises pump head and a drive unit. The pump head is connected to the gas outlet of the separating means, and the pump head is detachably attached to the drive unit, so that in use the fluid inlet of the separating means is connected to a wound cover, e.g. via a conduit.

  • Publication number: 20090030383
Abstract: A suction system for removal of fluids from a surface, e.g. a wound site, the system comprising a cover (1) attachable to a circumference of the surface to form an enclosed suction space sealed from ambient space. The system further comprises a pump (4) in fluid communication with the enclosure via a tube (2) to provide a pressure difference between a suction pressure in the enclosure and an air pressure of an ambient space. To provide an improvement over the known systems and to facilitate pressure measurement, the system comprises flushing means (11) to clean the tube.

  • Publication number: 20090012484
Abstract: A pump for pumping fluid matter from a treatment site in or on a living being comprises three compartments. A motor-driven pumping element is provided for generating a negative pressure within a wound cover at or near the treatment site, and a motor for providing a driving force to the pumping element is provided in the a first one of the compartments. The pumping element is comprised in a second compartment, and a container for collecting liquid pumped from the treatment site is comprised or integrated in a third compartment. The second compartment is detachably connected to the first and/or third compartment, and the third compartment is detachably connected to the first and/or the second compartment.

  • Publication number: 20090005746
Abstract: A suction system for removal of exudate from a wound comprises a wound cover which is attachable to a wound circumference of a living being thereby to form an enclosure, and a pump in fluid communication with the enclosure to provide a pressure difference between a negative pressure in the enclosure and an air pressure of an ambient space. A deflectable member is arranged such with respect to the enclosure that the pressure difference may cause deflection of the deflectable member, and a pressure sensing device is located outside the enclosure and arranged to provide a signal in response to the pressure or the deflection of the deflectable member. The deflectable member forms an essentially air tight barrier between the sensor and the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 7182085
Abstract: A pressure relieving dressing comprising an absorbing element and a substantially non-absorbing pressure distributing element, in which the absorbent element constitutes a part of a proximal skin contacting surface, said absorbing element being encircled by the pressure distributing element or being situated at the border of the pressure distributing element constituting the remaining part of the surface of the dressing to be in contact with the skin rendering it possible to obtain an effective and durable dressing suitable for both wound healing and prophylaxis of pressure ulcers.
