  • Publication number: 20150362822
Abstract: A transparent conductive film comprising at least one patterned region comprising a first concentration of at least one radiation absorbing compound and exhibiting a first surface resistivity, at least one unpatterned region comprising a second concentration of the at least one radiation absorbing compound and exhibiting a second surface resistivity, the second concentration being different from the first concentration and the second surface resistivity being different from the first surface resistivity, where the at least one patterned region and the at least one unpatterned region are indistinguishable from each other to the unaided human eye, and where the at least one radiation absorbing compound is capable of rendering the at least one patterned region and at least one unpatterned region distinguishable from each other to the unaided human eye when the at least one radiation absorbing compound is exposed to radiation within a defined band of wavelengths.

  • Publication number: 20150322221
Abstract: A method for patterning a film, the film comprising conductive nanostructures dispersed in a matrix, the matrix comprising at least one first leachable compound, the method comprising leaching at least some of the at least one first leachable compound from the matrix to form at least one patterned region of the matrix, the at least one patterned region comprising at least some of the conductive nanostructures, where the film prior to leaching exhibits a first surface resistivity, a first total light transmittance, and a first percent haze, and the at least one patterned region exhibits a second surface resistivity that is less than the first surface resistivity.

  • Patent number: 9105294
Abstract: Composite magnetic recording media are described. A composite structure is a structure that is formed of multiple components. For example, a composite magnetic recording medium may include a substrate, an underlayer formed over the substrate, the underlayer defining a coating surface, and a magnetic layer formed over the coating surface of the underlayer. Composite magnetic recording media constructed according to the materials and techniques disclosed may provide dimensional flexibility while exhibiting improved physical or electromagnetic characteristics. In some examples, dimensional flexibility may be achieved by pairing a substrate greater than or equal to approximately 4000 nanometers thick with an underlayer less than or equal to approximately 890 nanometers thick.

  • Patent number: 7816023
Abstract: A magnetic recording tape includes an elongated substrate and a magnetic film coated over the elongated substrate, where the magnetic film includes a first magnetic recording layer. The first magnetic recording layer includes particles having a diameter that is between a factor from about 2 to 5 greater than a thickness of the first magnetic recording layer.

  • Publication number: 20090134260
Abstract: A magnetic recording tape includes an elongated substrate, a magnetic coating disposed on a first side of the substrate, and a backside coated on a second side of the substrate. The magnetic coating includes an exposed magnetic recording layer and a support layer deposited on the substrate between the substrate and the exposed magnetic recording layer. The backside is coated on the substrate opposite the first side and has a roughness average Ra of less than about 18 nm and a friction force of less than about 70 g-force.
