Abstract: A method for fabricating a metal nanowire array (30) includes the following steps: providing a carbon nanotube array (10) which includes a number of carbon nanotubes (14), immersing the carbon nanotube array in a colloidal solution (20) which contains a solvent (22) and a number of metal nanocrystals (24) dispersed in the solvent so as to self-assemble the metal nanocrystals on exterior surfaces of the carbon nanotubes; taking the carbon nanotube array out of the colloidal solution; and heating the metal nanocrystals on the surfaces of the carbon nanotubes in a manner such that the metal nanocrystals are fused into a metal nanowire array.

Abstract: A thermal interface material and a making method thereof are disclosed. The thermal interface material includes a thermal conductive substrate having a first surface and an opposing second surface; and at least one organic metal multilayer film formed on at least one of the first and second surfaces. The organic metal multilayer film comprises a plurality of metal layers and a plurality of organic layers. Each of the metal layers and each of the organic layers are alternately linked to one by another. Each of the metal layers comprises a plurality of metal particles each in contact with one or more organic molecules of adjacent organic layers.

Abstract: A liquid-cooled heat dissipation system includes a heat absorber; a heat dissipating member; two connecting pipes connecting the heat absorber and the heat dissipating member; and a working fluid filled in the heat absorber, the heat dissipating member, and the connecting pipes. The working fluid is capable of circulating in the circuit. The working fluid includes a base fluid, a plurality of nanoparticles and a protective agent dispersed in the base fluid. A percentage by weight of the nanoparticles in the working fluid is in the range from 0.1% to 3%.

Abstract: An exemplary portable electronic device (10) includes a frame (13). A color changing layer (20) contains a color-changeable material and is coated onto the frame. The portable electronic device utilizes the color changing layer to change colors, thereby achieving a color-change function of the portable electronic device. A method of manufacturing the portable electronic device is also included.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing nanoparticles includes a vessel, a target, and a laser generating device. The vessel has an inlet and an outlet. The target is configured on a bottom of the vessel and disposed below the inlet. The produced nanoparticles flow continuously from the outlet with the produced solution and the protective solution can also be supplied into the vessel continuously from the inlet during production so as to mass-produce nanoparticles in a continuous and high efficient manner.

Abstract: A working fluid for a heat pipe includes a liquid solvent; a plurality of nano-particles dispersed in the liquid solvent; and a polymer stability agent configured for preventing the nano-particles from aggregating in the liquid solvent. A method for manufacturing the working fluid includes the steps of: providing a vessel containing a liquid solvent containing a polymer stability agent dispersed therein, the polymer stability agent being configured for preventing the created nano-particles from aggregating in the liquid solvent; arranging a target in the liquid solvent; and bombarding the target to create nano-particles, whereupon the nano-particles are dispersed into the polar solvent, thereby obtaining the working fluid.
