    Abstract: A divider divides an input data into a plurality of data blocks. A hash calculator calculates a hash value of each data block. A compression dictionary memory stores a compression dictionary that stores a previous input data and includes a shared dictionary shared by different data lengths. A hash table memory stores a hash table that stores an address representing a storage location of the data block corresponding to the hash value on the compression dictionary for each data block and includes a shared table shared by different data lengths. An address acquirer acquires the address corresponding to the data block based on the hash table. A matcher determines sameness between the previous data block indicated by the address and the new input data. An encoder generates a compressed data that includes matching information and a matched portion is converted to the address.

    Abstract: An embodiment provides a parallax image generating apparatus including a disparity generating section, a disparity correcting section and an image shifting section. The disparity generating section is configured to receive a depth of each part of an input image, and based on the depth, generate a disparity for each part of the image for a respective viewpoint. The disparity correcting section is configured to set a detection range right and left of a target part in the image, detect a foreground part in the detection range based on values of the disparity generated for respective parts and correct a value of the disparity of the target part based on the disparity generated for the foreground part. The image shifting section is configured to move a part of the input image based on the disparity corrected by the disparity correcting section, and to generate a parallax image for the respective viewpoint.

    Abstract: According to an embodiment, a stereoscopic image display apparatus comprises a video receiver, an information receiver, a measurement module, a converter and a display controller. The receiver is configured to receive wearing state information from stereoscopic image eyeglasses. The measurement module is configured to measure, when the received wearing state information indicates that the stereoscopic image eyeglasses are being worn, distance and angle information. The converter is configured to convert, when the received wearing state information indicates that the stereoscopic image eyeglasses are being worn, a plane image of the video into a stereoscopic image based on the measured distance and the measured angle. The display controller is configured to control the display unit to display the stereoscopic image and control the display unit to display a plane image when the received wearing state information indicates that the stereoscopic image eyeglasses are not being worn.
