Abstract: A space-minimized flash drive has a USB connector and a body, where the flash drive comprises a printed circuit board, a plurality of contact fingers, one or more memory devices, and a controller. The printed circuit board has a component section located inside the body and an insertion section extending into and located inside the USB connector. The memory device is disposed on the component section. The contact fingers are disposed on the top surface of the insertion section. The controller is disposed on the bottom surface of the insertion section located inside the USB connector. The footprint occupied by the controller and the corresponding empty footprint are saved to effectively reduce the length of the flash drive to miniaturize flash drives without interfering with the electrical connections of the contact fingers when plugging in the flash drive.

The controller includes a RS232/TTL interface for transforming a received RS232 signal into a TTL signal, a RS484/TTL interface for transforming the TTL signal into a RS485 signal, having a Rx/Tx control terminal, and a phase processing unit for receiving the TTL signal to generate a Rx/Tx control signal input to the Rx/Tx control terminal, wherein the Rx/Tx control signal is derived by inverting and delaying the TTL signal for a time interval.

Abstract: The present invention provides a disk array control apparatus comprising a disk array control unit, an interface converter and a network interface unit. The disk array control unit has a parallel interface for transmitting and receiving a plurality of parallel signals and a shared bus interface for transmitting and receiving stored data. The interface converter converts the parallel signals into corresponding differential signals when receiving the parallel signals from the disk array control unit, and converts a plurality of external differential signals into the corresponding parallel signals when the disk array control unit receiving data from the parallel interface. The network interface unit has a network I/O port connecting with an external network. The network interface unit is also connected to the shared bus interface.

Abstract: A centralized network storage system comprises a plurality of diskless clients and a server. A transforming device in the client, such as an interface card installed in the IDE or PCI expansion slot of the client, receives a hard disk access command from the client and packs the identity number and the command into a package and delivers the package to a server. A centralized storage device in the server is divided into a plurality of storage areas, each of which respectively corresponds to one of the clients.
