  • Publication number: 20250177207
Abstract: A system for preparation of an implant and ab interno insertion of the implant into an eye including a handle having one or more actuators and an elongated shaft having an outer sheath and an elongate member positioned within a lumen of the tubular outer sheath. The system includes a recess sized for holding a patch of material fixed relative to the handle and a cutting member movable relative to the handle and to the recess. The cutting member cuts the patch of material into an implant as the cutting member moves towards a cutting configuration. The implant, once cut, is axially aligned with the lumen of the tubular outer sheath. The inner elongate member is movable relative to the tubular outer sheath to advance the implant into a deployment position in the lumen of the tubular outer sheath for delivery into the eye. Related devices and methods are provided.

  • Publication number: 20250169989
Abstract: A device for disrupting tissue in an eye configured for ab interno insertion. An elongate, flexible shaft having a distal end region with a first tissue disruptor formed on an inward surface of the distal end region and a second tissue disruptor formed on an outward surface of the distal end region. The distal-most end is configured to be inserted into a portion of Schlemm's Canal and advanced along a circumferential contour of Schlemm's Canal away from the portion of Schlemm's Canal. The first tissue disruptor is configured to disrupt trabecular meshwork tissue as the shaft advances along the circumferential contour and the second tissue disruptor is configured to disrupt tissue upon retraction of the shaft and not as the shaft is advanced along the circumferential contour. Related methods and devices are provided.

  • Patent number: 12315632
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and systems for the enhanced monitoring of visual function via telemedicine to detect early onset of changes and abnormalities associated with disease. The systems include a cloud environment or neural network communicating various tests and images to a client device in which a user/patient is properly positioned to view a display of the client device, receive stimuli, and provide patient input which is evaluated in terms of timing and substance to generate a contrast-sensitivity map of a visual function for the patient. Various ocular tests are described for implementation in a new home-based computer environment rather than using expensive and specific medical equipment in a doctor's office.

  • Patent number: 12285217
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and systems for monitoring fluid outflow behavior of an eye of a subject, for example, during ocular surgery. Changes to intraocular pressure can reflect fluid outflow behavior. Fluid outflow behavior can be a critical factor in the successful outcome of a surgery and determining likelihood of post-operative side effects. Large fluctuations in intraocular pressure, ocular hypertension, and hypotony can be associated with vision loss or poor ocular health.

  • Patent number: 12268517
Abstract: A method of delivering safe, suitable, and repeatable dosages to a subject for topical, oral, nasal, or pulmonary use and a device for droplet ejection includes a fluid delivery system capable of delivering a defined volume of the fluid in the form of droplets having properties that afford adequate and repeatable high percentage deposition upon application. The method and device include a housing, a reservoir disposed within the housing for receiving a volume of fluid, an ejector mechanism configured to eject a stream of droplets having an average ejected droplet diameter greater than 15 microns, the stream of droplets having low entrained airflow such that the stream of droplets deposit on the eye of the subject during use.

  • Publication number: 20230181358
Abstract: A method for controlling intraocular pressure in a patient’s eye is provided. The method includes creating an intraocular entry into the eye, selecting a location along an optical disc of the eye, creating a conduit connecting at least a portion of an intravitreal cavity with at least a portion of a subarachnoid space in the eye at the selected location, deploying at least one stent communicating between the intravitreal cavity and the subarachnoid space via the conduit, and equilibrating the intraocular pressure in the eye by allowing the stent to communicate fluid flow between the intraocular compartment and the subarachnoid space.

  • Publication number: 20230009442
Abstract: Devices and methods to remove trabecular meshwork to treat glaucoma and other conditions which may not utilize cutting elements when stripping the trabecular meshwork. The trabeculorhexis parts tissue by applying non-cutting shear and tension to the tissue to disinsert the tissue from its attachments. Reducing or eliminating the need for sharp cutting implements in the eye reduces the likelihood of incisional bleeding, iris and scleral tissue maceration and further inadvertent tissue damage of the gonio structure of the eye. In another aspect, a cutting element may be used to form a circumferential slit in a wall of Schlemm’s canal in conjunction with removal of trabecular meshwork or independently.
