    Abstract: A conductor made of a single wire is crimped and fixed securely by a conductor crimping portion to achieve the reliability of electrical connection. In a conductor crimping portion, first and second crimping pieces each having a two-layer structure of an inner layer plate and an outer layer plate are raised in a U-shape in advance. A conductor made of a single wire is disposed between the crimping pieces. The outer layer plate and the inner layer plate are pressed to caulk and fix the conductor from all sides. In caulking the conductor, pressing forces in two directions, which are a pressing force from below toward the center of the conductor and a pressing force from obliquely upward toward the center of the conductor, are applied to form non-pressing portions between the inner layer plate and the conductor between pressing portions making contact with the conductor.

The core wire 2 is made of four middle wires 2a to 2d twisted together. Each of the middle wires 2a to 2d is made by twisting a strand made of 48 aramid fibers.     Abstract: A connector housing that is reduced in size in correspondence with reduction in size of a terminal. When a connecting terminal to which an electric wire and a waterproof sealing member are attached is inserted into a terminal accommodating hole from an terminal insertion opening, a step of the waterproof sealing member abuts against a step of the terminal insertion opening and also a taper surface meets a taper surface, preventing water from entering the terminal accommodating hole from the backside. In this state, the waterproof sealing member is pressed toward a connector housing by a rear holder to prevent the waterproof sealing member from falling out of position. Thus, because the terminal insertion opening is sealed, with a part of the waterproof sealing member placed outside the connector housing, the lateral width and vertical width of the terminal accommodating hole can be set to the magnitudes that substantially allow the connecting terminal to pass through the hole.

    Abstract: A pivoting lever has tongue-like movable pieces formed in a squared U-shape on both side faces of a cover member, and locking claws at intermediate parts of the movable piece. A pivoting lever is pivotally supported on a support pin of the cover member. Circular arc-shaped cam grooves are formed in a lever body part, and locking holes engaging locking claws are formed in the lever body part. When a mating housing is pressed into a housing and the lever is pivoted, the cam grooves drive a driven pin and pull the mating housing toward the housing. The lever contacts the locking claws, and pivots the locking claws while pushing them down. When the housings are joined, the locking claws returned to the original positions fitted into the locking holes, setting the lever to a locked state, thereby disabling further rotation and reverse rotation of the lever.
