  • Patent number: 7553203
Abstract: A connecting terminal has a rectangular tube-like connecting portion including a bottom plate, and a first side plate. A movable contact strip is secured to the bottom plate at a base portion. The movable contact strip is bent into a shape of a mountain. An apex of the mountain constitutes a contact portion. Prior to the formation of the connecting portion, the movable contact strip is folded over the bottom plate. An elongated strip portion of the bottom plate is cut and bent inwardly to form a reinforcing strip. A rear end of the movable contact strip is connected to the bottom plate. A free front end of the reinforcing strip is urged against a lower surface of the contact portion. At a front end of the connecting portion, a guide strip is formed by folding back a front end portion of the bottom plate.

  • Patent number: 7252556
Abstract: A front end 7 of a locking arm 4 provided on a rear holder 1 is inserted into a hole portion 25 formed in a main housing 21, and the locking arm 4 is supported like as a bridge. The main housing 21 is inserted into a hood portion 44 of a cooperating housing 41 and connecting terminals are connected to each other to establish the electrical connection. A locking claw 5 formed on the locking arm 4 is once resiliently moved downward to pass through a locking claw 43 of the cooperating housing 41 and is then restored into an original posture to engage the locking claw 5 with the locking claw 43. Once the main housing 21 is engaged with the cooperating housing 41, these housings could not be released accidentally.

  • Patent number: 6971927
Abstract: In a connector terminal into which a cooperating male contact terminal can be smoothly inserted and a movable contact strip can be prevented from being buckled while a desired contact pressure can be attained, a connecting portion 11 is formed into a substantially box shape by folding a bottom plate 13, side plates 14, 15 (14 is not shown) continuously extending from respective sides of the bottom plate and a top plate 16 continuously extending from one of the side plates. A movable contact strip 17 is formed by folding back the top plate 16 around a gently curved portion 17a into a resilient spring having an inverted triangular shape including a contact portion 17b near an inwardly bent middle portion of the movable contact strip 17. A hole 17c is formed at an end portion of the movable contact strip 17 into which an engagement tip 16b formed by folding a part of the top plate 16 inwardly is inserted.

  • Patent number: 6171140
Abstract: A joint connector easy to construct and involving less fabricating cost. The joint connector comprises a housing 3 for accommodating a plurality of connecting terminals 2 in a rear-side portion thereof, a bus bar 6 formed out of an electrically conductive metal plate and accommodated in the housing 3 for jointing any individual ones of the connecting terminals 2, a bus bar holder 7 for holding the bus bar 6, and a front cover 9 mounted to the housing 3 in such a way as to cover the bus bar holder 7. The bus bar holder 7 has a plurality of holes to be used for cutting the bus bar 6 to form an arbitrary circuit. The bus bar holder 7 and the bus bar 6 is mounted in the housing 3 so as to be movable in relation to the housing 3 in a direction orthogonal to the direction of the connecting terminals 2 being housed. When the front cover 9 is set in the housing 3, it causes the bus bar holder 7 to be moved and the bus bar 6 to be jointed with connecting terminals 2.

  • Patent number: 6165009
Abstract: A connector including a reception housing which has four sector-shaped compartments defined by four radial partitions, and four sector-shaped end terminals are inserted into the four sector-shaped compartments from mutually orthogonal directions which are perpendicular to a direction in which an insertion housing is inserted into the reception housing. A number of male terminals are provided on each of the four sector-shaped end terminals, and a number of conductors of a plurality of flat cables are connected to the male terminals. On the insertion housing, a number of female terminals are provided each being connected to respective one of a number of electric wires. The male and female terminals are simultaneously coupled with each other by inserting the insertion housing into the reception housing.

  • Patent number: 5334041
Abstract: An electric connector including a first connector half having a plurality of terminals, a second connector half having a plurality of corresponding terminal and a pair of leaf springs secured to opposite side also of the first connector half for detachably coupling he first and second connector halves with each other. Each leaf spring includes a fitting portion, a bent portion, an unlocking portion, an intermediate portion, an end portion with a locking aperture, and a reinforcing portion having one end connected to a junction between the bent portion and the unlocking portion. The fitting portion is secured to the first connector half and an end of the reinforcing portion is urged against a side wall of the first connector half. When the second connector half is inserted into the first connector half, a locking projection formed on a side wall of the second connector half engages with the locking aperture for locking the first and second connector halves together.

  • Patent number: 4758182
Abstract: An electric connector including a housing made of resin and having a plurality of cavities for receiving a plurality of terminals and a terminal retaining member made of resin and having a plurality of holes. When a rear portion of the housing is inserted into an opening formed in a front portion of the terminal retaining member, the housing and terminal retaining member are preliminarily coupled with each other in a first coupling mode in which the holes of the terminal retaining member are aligned with the cavities of the housing. After the terminals having electric wires connected thereto have been inserted into the cavities through the holes, the terminal retaining member is shifted in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the terminals are inserted and then is further moved toward the housing to attain a second coupling mode. In the second coupling mode the terminals are engaged with portions of the terminal retaining member to prevent the terminals from being removed out of the housing.
