  • Patent number: 5182602
Abstract: The invention provides an image forming apparatus having a transfer device. The transfer device includes a plurality of rollers, a belt and a cam. The belt is rotatable around the plurality of rollers so as to convey a recording sheet thereon. The transfer device is adapted to be pivotable around a pivot axis thereof. The cam pivots the transfer device so as to bring the belt in contact with and out of an imaging surface of a photoreceptor. In the device there is further provided a spring for supporting the transfer device to reduce the weight loaded onto said cam member.

  • Patent number: 5054419
Abstract: A developing apparatus for supplying a developer to a photoreceptor so that an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor is developed with the developer. The developing apparatus comprises a developer conveyer, having a rigid surface, for conveying the developer to a developing zone; a developer layer-thickness regulator, shaped like a bar and having a rigid surface portion of the curvature radius between 0.5 mm and 15 mm, for regulating the thickness of the developer to be conveyed to the developing zone; and a supporter for supporting the developer layer-thickness regulator.

  • Patent number: 4580890
Abstract: A paper feeding system for a copying apparatus has an auxiliary paper feeding unit which feeds paper to a photocopying member over a longer path than that of a primary paper feeding unit. The paper feeding system is provided with a drawing-out roller for feeding paper from the auxiliary unit to a stand-by position which is provided with a pair of auxiliary paper feeding rollers, for feeding paper from the stand-by position into the copying apparatus, and a detector for detecting paper at the stand-by position. When no paper is detected at the stand-by position, a signal is provided to the drawing-out roller to feed another paper from the auxiliary unit to the stand-by position. The stand-by position is selected so that the length of the paper feeding path from the stand-by position to the photocopying member is about equal to the path from the primary paper feeding unit.

  • Patent number: 4422631
Abstract: A copier machine is provided with two or more paper feeder racks loaded with special recording paper cassettes, cooperating with a paper feeding device. The cassettes may contain paper of respectively different sizes. The paper feeding device is provided with a manual lever which not only selects the desired cassette to be fed but permits accurate and quick loading and unloading of one selected cassette while preventing the feeding of the nonselected cassette or cassettes. The manual lever is locked in its selected position but a sensor provides for unlocking the same and return of the manual lever to a neutral position when a paper feeding rack is completely loaded.
