  • Patent number: 6506143
Abstract: In a finishing apparatus, a plurality of works are retained at distances from each other in a direction of an X-axis. A single spindle is disposed on a table movable in the direction of the X-axis, the spindle has an axis parallel to an axis of each of bores to be finished, and is capable of being advanced and retracted axially. A measuring device is provided that measures an inside diameter of each finished bore and which is advanced and retracted independently from the spindle in a direction along the axis of each finished bore. A combination tool is mounted at a tip end of the spindle and finishes an inner surface of any of the bores to be finished, even if the position of insertion of the combination tool into each of the bores is changed.

  • Patent number: 5671837
Abstract: A panel distribution system includes a plurality of panel delivery units disposed on a panel conveyance line for forcing out panels in a lateral direction from the conveyance line. The delivery units are all operative to allow the passage of the panels through them except one located closer to a downstream end of the conveyance line. A plurality of loading conveyor units having a two-storied construction composed of a pair of overlapping upper and lower loading conveyors can be disposed on the same side of the conveyance line and held in alignment with the corresponding delivery units. This concentrated high-density arrangement of the loading conveyors can make considerable reductions in floor space of the entire system with a minimum dead space involved. In one preferred form, the panel conveyance line extending from a transfer press and the upper and lower loading conveyors are aligned with each other, so that a further reduction in size of the entire system is possible.

  • Patent number: 5067231
Abstract: Parts such as bearings are press-fitted into a workpiece by an automatic system which includes a positioning device for positioning a workpiece, and a pressing device for press-fitting a part into the workpiece which is positioned by the positioning device. The positioning device includes a jig base having a stationary reference surface, a support table movable toward and away from the stationary reference surface, and a pusher unit for pushing the support table to create a gap between an end surface of the workpiece and the stationary reference surface when the workpiece is placed on the support table. The pressing device includes a presser unit including a presser rod for holding the part thereon, the presser unit being movable toward and away from the support table, and an actuator for pressing the end surface of the workpiece against the stationary reference surface to position the workpiece before the part is press-fitted into the workpiece by the presser rod.
