  • Patent number: 5053896
Abstract: There is a receiving apparatus in which the received data is recorded by a recording head which accesses each portion of a recording medium. This receiving apparatus comprises: a discriminating circuit to discriminate whether the portion accessed by the recording head is the recorded portion or the unrecorded portion upon reception; and a control circuit for allowing the recording head to access the unrecorded portion on the basis of the result of the discrimination of the discriminating circuit. Upon reception, the control circuit controls the recording head so as to automatically access the unrecorded portion. Further, upon reception, an amount of unrecorded portions is displayed.

  • Patent number: 5003403
Abstract: A reproducing apparatus wherein luminance signals are converted by a first conversion process into converted luminance signals, while color information signals are converted by a second conversion process into converted color information signals, both signals then being multiplexed to form color video signals which are recorded on a record bearing medium. The color video signals are reproduced from the record bearing medium, and the converted luminance signals and the converted color information signals are separated from the reproduced video signals. A first inverse-conversion process inverse to the first conversion process is applied to the separated converted luminance signals to form luminance signals, while a second inverse-conversion process inverse to the second conversion process is applied to the separated converted color information signals to form color information signals, and the signals are separately output to other external devices.

  • Patent number: 4626797
Abstract: In the disclosed phase-locked loop circuit, a phase detecting circuit produces a control signal for controlling the frequency of an oscillator according to the phase difference between the output of the oscillator and an input signal. The control signal controls the oscillator only during a specific period of time in which there is a phase difference. This eliminates the need for a low pass loop filter and results in a quick response, stable phase-locked loop circuit.
