    Abstract: A semi-aromatic polyamide resin is provided which has a high level of residence stability, hot-water resistance and chemical resistance and is also excellent in adhesive properties and compatibility with other resins and the like. The semi-aromatic polyamide resin comprises: dicarboxylic acid units in which 50 to 100 mol % of the dicarboxylic acid units are aromatic dicarboxylic acid units; and diamine units in which 60 to 100 mol % of the diamine units are aliphatic diamine units having 9 to 13 carbon atoms. Furthermore, at least 10% of terminal groups of molecular chains of the polyamide resin are blocked with a terminal-blocking agent, and the amount of terminal amino groups of the molecular chains is 60 ?eq/g or more and 120 ?eq/g or less. In addition, [NH2]/[COOH]?6 is satisfied, where [NH2] (?eq/g) represents the amount of the terminal amino groups and [COOH] (?eq/g) represents the amount of terminal carboxyl groups.

    Abstract: A polyamide (9-T polyamide) comprising (a) 60 to 100 mole of terephthalic acid and (b) a diamine component comprising 60 to 100 mole % of 1,9-nonanediamine, said polyamide having an intrinsic viscosity ?.eta.! as determined by measurement in concentrated sulfuric acid at 30.degree. C. of 0.6 to 2.0 dl/g and having at least 10% of terminal groups thereof blocked. Another polyamide (9M-T polyamide) comprises a dicarboxylic acid component (a) comprising 60 to 100 mole % of terephthalic acid and a diamine component (b) comprising 60 to 100 mole % of 1,9-nonanediamine and 2-methyl-1,8octanediamine, the molar ratio between said 1,9 nonanediamine and said 2-methyl-1,8-octanediamine being in a range of 60:40 to 99:1, said polyamide having an intrinsic viscosity ?.eta.! as determined by measurement in concentrated sulfuric acid at 30.degree. C. of 0.4 to 3.0 dl/g.

The copolyesters of the present invention are applicable to melt moldings accompanying melt extrusion, in particular extrusion blow molding, where parisons therefrom have good draw-down tendency and blow moldability.
