Patent number: 8303969Abstract: A substantially anhydrous, spreadable warming lubricant composition comprising a mixture of glycerin, a polyhydric alcohol, and a non-ionic surfactant, the viscosity of the composition being less than that of glycerin but greater than that of the polyhydric alcohol, thereby promoting formation of a useful thin layer on a surface with which the composition is brought into contact, the surfactant improving wetting and spreadability of the composition on skin and latex, such that the composition can be applied to skin or a condom and provide an optimal warming effect upon contact with ambient moisture during use and such that the composition can be added to a condom package and, over the course of about a week, spread and coat nearly the entire internal and external surfaces of the condom.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2010Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: Ansell Healthcare Products LLCInventors: Beng Sim Chuah, David M. Lucas, Tsui Shih Yeun, Dave Narasimhan

Patent number: 8193134Abstract: A substantially anhydrous, thickened, spreadable, warming lubricant composition comprising a mixture of glycerin, polyhydric alcohol, a non-ionic surfactant, and a Carbomer thickener, the surfactant improving wetting and spreadability of the composition on skin and latex, and the thickener providing a creamy rich feel to the composition, such that the composition can be applied to skin or a condom and provide an optimal warming effect upon contact with ambient moisture during use and such that the composition can be added to a condom package and, over the course of a week, spread and coat nearly the entire internal and external surfaces of the condom.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2010Date of Patent: June 5, 2012Assignee: Ansell Healthcare Products LLCInventors: Beng Sim Chuah, David M. Publication number: 20100263675Abstract: Provided are condoms and methods of making and using the same, the condoms having an elastomeric layer and a low melt wax bead which comprises an active ingredient mixed therein, wherein the bead is affixed on the interior surface of the elastomeric layer in the tip of the condom. Active ingredients can include spermicides such as nonoxynol-9 and vasodilators such as niacin, sildenafil citrate, and nitroglycerin and male desensitizing agents such as benzocaine. The bead can comprise a natural wax in combination with polyethylene glycol or it can be a polyethylene glycol-based wax. The exterior surface of the elastomeric layer is substantially free of the active ingredient.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2009Publication date: October 21, 2010Applicant: Ansell Healthcare Products LLCInventors: Beng Sim Chuah, Tsui Shih Yeun, David M. Lucas, Burton Van Rooyen, Michael S. Zedalis
