  • Publication number: 20220105285
Abstract: A respiratory therapy management system includes intelligent valved holding chamber devices (IVHCs) corresponding to patients. Each IVHC generates air inflow data during an inhalation therapy session, and determines an inhalation technique score for the session. For each IVHC, a mobile computing device receives and processes inhalation technique scores; generates composite inhalation technique scores and inhalation therapy regimen compliance scores corresponding to multiple inhalation therapy sessions; and presents visual representations of such scores. A remote therapy management server manages patient incentive awards; provides a social media platform and/or games accessible to patients; and communicates with physician computing devices to facilitate physician review of composite inhalation technique scores and inhalation therapy regimen compliance scores, and physician access to the social media platform.

  • Publication number: 20170296326
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to stent graft devices for endovascular repair of aneurysms. A stent graft device according to the present disclosure comprises: a membrane defining a lumen between a proximal end and a distal end of the membrane, the lumen for fluid communication distally therethrough; a plurality of fenestrations disposed on the membrane and fluidly communicable with the lumen; and a plurality of protrusions carried by the membrane, each protrusion extending inwardly into or outwardly from the lumen. Fluid communicated from the plurality of fenestrations is deflectable or deflected by the plurality of protrusions.

  • Publication number: 20170164869
Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking shape and orientation of an endoscope employ motion tracking sensors to track locations on the endoscope for use in determining real time shape and distal end orientation for display during navigation of the endoscope. An example system includes sensor units distributed along the endoscope and a control unit. The sensor units track motion of the endoscope locations and transmit resulting tracking data to a control unit. The control unit processes the tracking data to determine shape of the endoscope and orientation of the distal end of the endoscope. The control unit generates output to a display unit that causes the display unit to display one or more representations indicative of the shape of the endoscope and orientation of the distal end of the endoscope for reference by an endoscope operator during an endoscopic procedure.

  • Patent number: 8715340
Abstract: Embodiments of a uniformly porous membrane covering an endoprosthetic device, for example, a stent used to treat an aneurysm, are described. Some embodiments have a pore size and spacing that provides a material ratio of between 70-80% in the deployed state. Material ratio is the proportion of the total porous segment of the membrane that corresponds to membrane material, the remainder being pores. In some embodiments, pore size ranges from about 10-100 ?m. In some embodiments, pores are equidistantly spaced with pore spacing in a range of about 40-100 ?m. The combination of pore size and spacing are effective to provide a membrane that substantially prevents flow to the aneurysm, while maintaining flow to perforator vessels. In some embodiments the membrane includes permanently attached agents that promote attachment of endothelial cells or progenitors and healing of the aneurysm, or reduce immune responses detrimental to the healing process.

  • Publication number: 20090054966
Abstract: An endovascular device (10) for insertion into a bodily vessel (5) to treat a diseased, damaged or weakened portion of a vessel wall (50), the endovascular device (10) comprising: a mechanically expandable device (11) expandable from a first position to a second position, said mechanically expandable device (11) is expanded radially outwardly to the second position such that the circumferential surface of said mechanically expandable device (11) engages with the inner surface of the vessel (5) so as to maintain a fluid pathway through said vessel (5); and a membrane (20) covering at least a portion of the circumferential surface of said mechanically expandable device (11), the membrane (20) comprising a plurality of pores (25), the porosity of the membrane (20) being defined by the ratio of the material surface area of the membrane (20) determined by the size of the pores (21) and the distance between adjacent pores (22, 23); wherein the mechanically expandable device (10) is positioned in the bodily vessel (
