  • Publication number: 20220380229
Abstract: A composition for selectively removing a first ionic contaminant from a wastewater stream. The composition is formed into a particle. The composition includes a core formed of a non-active material relative to the first ionic contaminant, and, a shell formed from an active material relative to the first ionic contaminant, wherein the active material comprises between 10 to 50 wt % of the particle. The shell may also include a binder material that may be non-active relative to the first ionic contaminant, but active relative to a second ionic contaminant. The core may be formed from a glass-forming material so that a vitrification process may be used for the spent solid waste.

  • Patent number: 11000832
Abstract: A catalyst composition and its use as a dehydrogenation catalyst to increase normal olefin selectivity and reduce undesirable aromatic selectivity. The reduction in aromatic production allows for the elimination of a unit to remove aromatic compounds. The catalyst has a layered composition comprising an inner core, an outer layer bonded to the inner core, the outer layer comprising one or more transition alumina with at least two diffraction angle peaks between 32.0° and 70.0° 2?, wherein a first diffraction angle peak in that range is at 32.7±0.4° 2?, a second diffraction angle peak is at 50.8±0.4° 2?, and having a thickness of less than about 100 microns and having uniformly dispersed thereon said platinum catalyst and at least one promoter metal and having a concentration of the platinum catalyst of from about 0.00006 to 0.0005 gram of the platinum group metal on an elemental basis per meter square surface area of the outer layer.

  • Publication number: 20110268242
Abstract: A recombination apparatus is provided to an off-gas system of a boiling water nuclear plant. An off-gas system pipe connected to a condenser is connected to the recombination apparatus. A catalyst layer filled with a catalyst for recombining hydrogen and oxygen is disposed in the recombination apparatus. The recombination catalyst has a percentage of the number of Pt particles whose diameters are in a range from more than 1 nm to not more than 3 nm to the numbers of Pt particles whose diameters are in a range from more than 0 nm to not more than 20 nm, falling within a range from 20 to 100%. The condenser discharges gas containing an organosilicon compound (ex. D5), hydrogen, and oxygen, which is introduced to the recombination apparatus. Use of the above recombination catalyst can improve the performance of recombining hydrogen and oxygen more than conventional catalysts and the initial performance of the catalyst can be maintained for a longer period of time.
