  • Publication number: 20230276329
Abstract: A Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) system is provided. The MEC system includes a user equipment (UE), an MEC device, and a core network. The MEC device includes a relay User Plane Function (UPF) module, a first UPF module, and a second UPF module. The core network performs a UPF path management corresponding to the UE based on a notification of the MEC device. When the UE attaches to a network, the MEC device establishes an idle session between the UE and the relay UPF module. When the MEC device determines that a service for the UE needs to be switched from the first UPF module to the second UPF module and the second UPF module has not been activated, the MEC device notifies the core network to switch the service for the UE from the first UPF module to the relay UPF module first.

  • Patent number: 11582314
Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for assisting an unregistered user device to access private network services and a communication system. The method includes steps as follows. A request to access a private service of a private network is sent by a user device. In response to determining that the user device not registered on the private network wants to access the private service, the user device is assisted to obtain a temporary user profile by a mobile edge computing server through an emergency type attachment procedure. In response to determining that the user device is registered on the private network through the emergency type attachment procedure, a regular attachment procedure is executed by the user device based on the temporary user profile. In response to determining that the user device executes the regular attachment procedure, the mobile edge computing server provides the user device with the private service.

  • Patent number: 11533634
Abstract: The disclosure provides a base station and a method for optimizing the coverage of a self-defined network. The method includes: receiving a measurement report from user equipment; in response to determining that the measurement report indicates that a neighboring first base station is present, sending a member tracking message to the first base station; determining whether the first base station belongs to any other base station group based on a member tracking response from the first base station; in response to determining that the first base station does not belong to any other base station group, adding the first base station to a base station group managed by the base station; and in response to determining that the member tracking response indicates that the first base station belongs to another base station group, merging the base station group and the another base station group.

  • Patent number: 8396684
Abstract: A method and a system for motion tracking, capable of tracking a trajectory of a movable object by an architecture having at least three accelerometers arranged in a predefined structure. The trajectory, displacement and rotational angle of the movable object are determined by ways of extrapolation, numerical calibration and vector transformation according to the acceleration signals detected by the at least three accelerometers.

  • Publication number: 20120146582
Abstract: An electric vehicle charging-control system includes a charge-monitoring device coupled with a battery system of an electric vehicle, a processor coupled with the charge-monitoring device, and a communication interface coupled with the processor. The charge-monitoring device may detect the charging conditions of an electricity charge provided from a charging device to the battery system for charging the battery system, and the processor may determine whether the charging conditions exceed a tolerance criteria associated with at least one of the charge-monitoring device, the battery system, and the electric vehicle. The communication interface may communicate to the charge-monitoring device, a charge-receiving device, and/or the charging device at least one of a charging instruction and a charging indication provided by the processor based on a determination of whether the charging conditions exceed the tolerance criteria.

  • Patent number: 6363424
Abstract: In an Internet protocol (IP)-based multimedia system having a voice over packet infrastructure call handling involves the execution of a call processing program that controls state transitions in a finite state machine termed the “call model.” These transitions are representative of the events that occur during the lifetime of the call and result in the execution of pre-defined actions. In order to provide high level Intelligent Network (IN) capabilities to IP end-point subscribers, a call model layer implements the IN call model, but is closely integrated with the IP-based, multimedia call model that runs within the base platform. The integration employs a precisely defined state-level map between states in the IN call model and the corresponding states in the base call model. The IN call model layer is thus able to support access to IN components to permit the existing base of IN services to be easily accessed and to permit the base layer to support client-level interaction and event handling.
