Patent number: 9616894Abstract: A stepless transmission 1 is provided for preventing drive wheels from being driven despite the driver's intention during vehicle deceleration. A control device 40: when the required drive force of the vehicle is 0, controls the output rotational speed Ne of a travel drive source 50 to be Ne2, and controls the transmission gear ratio i of the transmission 1 so that the transmission 1 in the case where the Ne is Ne1 changes from a first state to a second state; and when the vehicle speed V is less than a boundary speed Vgn, controls the ratio i to be a state maintaining transmission gear ratio ign that enables the first state to be maintained even during vehicle deceleration. In the second state a rotational drive force is transmitted from an input shaft 2 to an output shaft 3. In the first state the transmission is prevented.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2014Date of Patent: April 11, 2017Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventor: Tsunehiro Kobayashi

Publication number: 20160033020Abstract: A vehicular power transmission device including a crank type continuously variable transmission is provided in which when the vehicle transitions to the deceleration traveling state, a second one-way clutch (69) is engaged to thus transmit to an engine (E) the driving force that has been transmitted back via auxiliary driving force transmission method (54), thereby enabling engine braking to be operated.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2014Publication date: February 4, 2016Applicant: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Kazuki Ichikawa, Tsunehiro Kobayashi, Yuji Nishimura

Publication number: 20160032881Abstract: A vehicular power transmission including a crank type continuously variable transmission is provided in which when the rotational speed of an engine during deceleration fuel cut-off is at least a first rotational speed, which is an upper limit of rotational speed at which plunging of a starter motor is possible, but less than a second rotational speed, which is a lower limit of rotational speed at which self-ignition of the engine is possible. The engine is cranked and restarted by transmitting the driving force of an electric motor of a shift actuator to an input shaft via first and second engagement portions. This eliminates the need for restarting the engine with the starter motor by waiting until the rotational speed of the engine has become less than the first rotational speed, thus reducing the time required for restarting the engine. Moreover, the electric motor can be made small.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2014Publication date: February 4, 2016Applicant: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Kazuki Ichikawa, Yuji Nishimura, Tsunehiro Kobayashi

Publication number: 20150276032Abstract: An output shaft is formed from an output shaft main body portion connected to a transmission unit. An output shaft downstream portion arranged further on the downstream side in the power transmission direction than the output shaft main body portion. A dog clutch is disposed between the output shaft main body portion and the output shaft downstream portion. When the output shaft main body portion is seized and cannot rotate, it is possible, by disengaging the dog clutch to detach the output shaft downstream portion from the output shaft main body portion, to prevent a driven wheel from being locked by the seized output shaft main body portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2013Publication date: October 1, 2015Applicant: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Kazuki Ichikawa, Fumiyasu Suga, Tsunehiro Kobayashi

Patent number: 9045128Abstract: Provided is a drive system that enables a reduction in the rise time of foot axis torque even if the drive system has a one-way clutch. The drive system includes a one-way clutch between a transmission and an output shaft. When a coasting determination unit determines to perform a coasting control, a control unit executes the coasting control by reducing the engine rotation speed of an internal combustion engine or stopping the engine rotation to bring the one-way clutch into a non-transmission state, and changing the transmission gear ratio of the transmission to a transmission gear ratio smaller than the transmission gear ratio calculated by a calculation unit.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2012Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Mitsuhiro Iwadare, Satoshi Kodo, Tsunehiro Kobayashi
