Abstract: An I/O emulation system for a virtual machine includes a command interpretation portion including a programmable logic device that detects completion of a plurality of device operating instructions, which corresponds to a device operating request for the virtual machine, output from the guest device driver included, a device control portion that converts the plurality of device operating instructions, which is notified by a virtual machine monitor, into an I/O command and a host device driver that outputs a device operating instruction for the actual device in accordance with the I/O command.

Abstract: A memory clear apparatus includes a processor that issues a memory clear request including a zero clear target area on a memory area and a zero clear target size, and a memory clearing circuit that receives the memory clear request from the processor, performs zero clearing on the zero clear target area based on the memory clear request, and transmits a memory clear completion notification to the processor.

Abstract: An optical wiring switching unit includes a first connection interface. A packet switch includes a second connection interface. A resource includes a third connection interface, and is formed with at least one of a server and a storage device. A control device controls the optical wiring switching unit to perform a switching of connection between the connection interfaces. The packet switch and the resource are connected to the optical wiring switching unit via the connection interfaces. A network is configured by connecting the packet switch and the resource with a control of the optical wiring switching unit.

Abstract: In a network, a controller controls a physical-interconnection selection switch and middle switches so as to dynamically change a network topology according to the state of the network. A traffic analyzer detects how the traffic in the network changes. If there is a change in traffic, the controller controls the physical-interconnection selection switch and the middle switches so as to change the network topology to one suitable for the changed traffic.

Abstract: A migration program which reduces a service suspension time, ensures access transparency and position transparency, and enables normal operation without degrading the performance. When processing is migrated from a source computer, an operating reception block receives an operating system program through a network. An execution information reception block receives execution information needed to resume a process of the source computer, through the network from the source computer. An address reception block receives a floating MAC address assigned to the source computer in addition to the inherent MAC address, from the source computer. A processing block executes processing to restore the state of the source computer in accordance with the received operating system program and execution information, and performs subsequent communication by using the received floating MAC address of the source computer.

Abstract: A information retrieving method of realizing the improvement of retrieval performance without conducting fine-grain processing and allowing a parallelizing operation for sequential retrieval engines to be conducted easily. Accordingly, the information retrieving method according to this invention is made to connect retrieving servers in parallel with respect to a retrieval managing server through the use of a parallel framework which makes the retrieving servers conduct parallel processing by integrating the functions of the retrieving servers in a manner of directly using the functions thereof without changing. The data to be retrieved is distributed or substantially equally to the retrieving servers, while the retrieval requests from clients are successively broadcasted to the retrieving servers without waiting for the retrieval results from the retrieving servers. This invention can be effectively applied for fetching necessary information from a database retaining various kinds of information.
