  • Patent number: 8587629
Abstract: An image-forming device is provided with a shutter member that has a ventilation passage formed extending therethrough in a main scanning direction, the shutter member adapted to slide over the outside surface of the housing in a secondary scanning direction, a cover member adapted to open or close an interior of a chassis of the device. The shutter member, when the cover member is moved in a direction to open up the inside of the device chassis, is moved in a direction to shut an output window, and when the cover member is moved in a direction to close up the inside of the device chassis, is moved in a direction to open the output window. In association with movement of the shutter member towards the open direction, the ventilation passage faces a ventilation opening of a duct furnished to the device chassis.

  • Patent number: 8493427
Abstract: The present invention is an optical scanning apparatus that is positioned and fixed to a metal frame of an image forming apparatus, in which a rotating polygon mirror being a deflection means and a drive motor rotationally driving the rotating polygon mirror are accommodated inside a housing made of resin. In the present invention, a bearing of the drive motor and a positioning member provided upright to the metal frame are inserted into and fitted with each other from opposite directions in a positioning boss formed in the housing, and the bearing is in contact with the positioning member.

  • Patent number: 5851712
Abstract: An electrophotosensitive material of the present invention is formed by providing a photosensitive layer containing a bis-azo pigment expressed in formula (1): ##STR1## wherein A.sup.1, A.sup.2, R.sup.1 and n are as defined, as a charge generating material, and a diamine compound expressed in formula (2): ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 p and q k, l, m and o are as defined, as a charge-trasferring material, on a conductive substrate. As a charge generating material, a perylene pigment, anthanthrone pigment, X-type metal-free phthalocyanine pigment, imidazoleperylene pigment or perylene bis-azo pigment are preferable used together with the bis-azo pigment. Thus, photosensitive material is excellent in sensitivity and durability.

  • Patent number: 5499486
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for packing a drum-shaped electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising the steps of folding a wrapping-start edge portion of a light-shielding packing sheet outwardly in a diametrical direction of the photoreceptor across a width of the packing sheet, and wrapping the packing sheet on a circumferential surface of the photoreceptor. The packing process of the present invention enables an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which has a small diameter, or has a soft surface and is susceptible to scratching, to be packed without forming scratches on its surface and decreasing its photosensitivity.
