Patent number: 6143417Abstract: This invention provides a contamination-resistant float glass showing even quality in durability and its good quality sufficienty. The film for contamination-resistance is formed only on the top-side surface of a float glass. The surface, free from tin diffused from a float bath, can be identified by ultraviolet irradation. A solution including a chemical adsorbent like fluoroalkyltrichlorosilane is applied to the top-side surface by a roller coater. The adsorbent can be prevented from hydrolyzing with dry air around the coating portion of the coater. Surplus solution can be removed with dry air blown on the surface to make the contamination-resistant property and the appearance better. The chemical adsorbent is bonded to the surface via a siloxane bond to form a thin film. The contamination-resistant float glass is installed in the front door of an apparatus like a toaster oven with the film facing the inside of the oven.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1998Date of Patent: November 7, 2000Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takaiki Nomura, Kazufumi Ogawa, Jun Oe, Tadashi Ohtake, Tohru Nakagawa, Toshimitsu Kurumizawa, Shuzou Tokumitsu, Tsuneo Shibata, Hidekata Kawanishi, Satoshi Shimizu, Mamoru Isogai

Patent number: 5587209Abstract: The invention seeks to provide a substrate such as metal, ceramic, plastic, and glass material having a fluorine-based coating film having strong adhesion to a surface of the substrate. The substrate material comprises a monomolecular or polymer adsorption film formed on a base substrate surface and having siloxane bonds and a fluorine-based coating film provided on the adsorption film. The invention also seeks to provide a method of manufacturing a substrate material having a fluorine coating, which is simple and does not involve any electrolytic etching step. The method comprises a step of forming a monomolecular or polymer adsorbed film having --Si-- bonds from dehydrochlorination or dealchoholation the bonded on the substrate surface and causing a silane-based surface active material, capable of reaction with an active hydrogen, to be brought in contact with the substrate surface, and laminating a fluorine-based polymer bonded by a cross-linking reaction process on the adsorbed film.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1995Date of Patent: December 24, 1996Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Mamoru Soga, Norihisa Mino, Kazufumi Ogawa, Yusuke Mochizuki, Tsuneo Shibata

Patent number: 4774395Abstract: An electric heat storage apparatus, such as a steam iron, hot plate, pan, etc., includes a metal body defining a hollow housing enclosing a heat storage device containing a thermally decomposable heat storage substance comprising 30-99% by weight pentaerythritol. The heat storage substance is completely confined in a fluororesin enclosure which isolates the substance from the metal body and prevents contact of ambient air therewith so that the thermal stability of the pentaerythritol is enchanced. The metal body is heated by an electric heating element to a selected temperature for storing heat in the heat storage substance. In the case of use as a cordless electric steam iron, the metal body forms the sole plate of the iron and is provided with a vaporization chamber in heat exchange relationship with the heat storage substance for the generation of steam.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1985Date of Patent: September 27, 1988Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hidetaka Yabuuchi, Yoshiyasu Endo, Akira Kataoka, Tsuneo Shibata

Patent number: 4116881Abstract: In removing nitrogen oxide from a gas containing it, the gas is passed through a region where at least one of calcium sulfate and calcium hydroxide coexists with powerful oxidation agents such as sodium chlorite, potassium permanganate, etc. thereby removing the nitrogen oxide, mainly nitrogen monoxide, from the gas. This method is very effective in purifying exhaust gases resulting from burning operations, since 80 to 90% or more of the nitrogen oxide contained in the exhaust gases is nitrogen monoxide. In addition, this method is also effective in purifying indoor air.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1977Date of Patent: September 26, 1978Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tsuneo Shibata, Masao Maki, Masao Suzuki, Hidehiko Kawabe
