    Abstract: An apparatus for forming a character in which picture elements as indication elements are formed in the shape of a matrix to create a character, such as a letter, a numeral, a symbol or the like, in this case the magnifications of the character in both a longitudinal and a lateral direction are suitably increased or reduced and, in case the character has become obscure as a result of such enlargement, an interpolation is performed to the character to render it clear. The apparatus is used, for example, in the case of forming a character with printer.
