  • Patent number: 5625928
Abstract: In an automatic lock slider for a slide fastener, a yoke accommodating a locking pawl and a leaf spring has a pair of inwardly directed projections, and a generally C-shaped, narrow rigid strip has on its upper edges a pair of taper surfaces corresponding to the respective projections. As the taper surfaces are guided by the projections, the pawl keeps its suitable posture during the assembling of the slider, and the pawl acts reliably while the automatic locking mechanism is either operative or inoperative. The locking pawl is small in width and has one leg portion to be inserted in a groove of the outer surface of a connector of a slider body. The result is that the number of pressing steps is reduced to minimize press traces on the surface of an upper wing of the slider body so that press traces are prevented from coming out on the slider surface though the yoke is smaller in width compared to the conventional one.

  • Patent number: 5357663
Abstract: In a slide fastener coupling element forming apparatus, a blank wire of a generally Y-shape cross section intermittently supplied at a predetermined pitch is cut off into pieces of a predetermined thickness by a fixed cutting punch and a reciprocating cutting die, and then a bulge for the head portion of a coupling element is formed by a forming die and a forming punch movable upwardly and downwardly to coact with the forming die. The forming die is located to be connected with the forward end in the stroke direction of the cutting die, and the forming punch is located upwardly of the bulge forming station. Then the opposite leg portions of a coupling element are pushed out of the mold of the forming die by a vertically movable ejector pin located under the leg portions on the forming die to discharge the formed coupling element from the forming die.

  • Patent number: 5167052
Abstract: A lockable slider for a slide fastener comprises a slider body having a guide channel, a cover member having an elongate aperture, a locking member, and a switching means movable in the aperture between a first position in which to advance the locking member into the guide channel and a second position in which to retract the locking member away from the guide channel.

  • Patent number: 5086546
Abstract: A slider includes a slider body and a pull tab pivotally connected thereto. The slider body comprising a pair of upper and lower wings connected at their respective front ends by a diamond having a through hole formed longitudinally thereof, the upper wing having a recess in its upper surface close to the through hole; a holder post including a holder body and a crook portion bent rearwardly from the holder body; and a decorative pattern provided on the upper surface of the upper wing rearwardly of the recess. The holder body fits through the through hole and the crook portion has its lower end fit into the recess, thus defining with the upper surface of the upper wing an opening through which to pivotally join the pull tab to the slider body. The holder body is clinched to the slider body through the through hole.

  • Patent number: 4920615
Abstract: A slide fastener slider comprises a slider body, a pull tab support pivotally connected at one end to the slider body, and a pull tab removably attached to the opposite end of the pull tab support. The pull tab support comprises a hook portion hooked to define therein a gap for loosely receiving an annular portion of the pull tab and having in its inner surface engaging means; and a substantially U-shaped resilient member having at its opposite ends fitting means for fitting engagement with the engaging means, to thus close the gap.

  • Patent number: 4338706
Abstract: An adjustable fastener for interconnecting a first part and a second part, comprising: an elongate rack adapted to be secured to the first part and having a row of teeth; and a slider adapted to be fastened to the second part and movable on and along the rack for locking engagement therewith at a selected position. The slider comprises a housing having a longitudinal channel for passage therethrough of the rack, and a groove extending transversely of and opening toward the channel. A locking member is slidably held within the groove for locking engagement with one of the teeth. Elongate resilient means extends in an along the channel for normally retaining in its free state the locking member in locking engagement with said one of the teeth, the locking member being movable along the groove out of locking engagement with said one of the teeth against the force of the resilient means.

  • Patent number: 4271567
Abstract: An automatically locking slider includes a locking spring for locking the slider in position on a slide fastener. The locking spring has at one end a locking prong movable into and out of a slide fastener guide channel and at the other end a first retaining portion resting on a slider body. The locking spring is further provided with a resilient tongue or tongues constituting a second retaining portion which is supported by a pivot means in a plane above and remote from the general plane of an upper body wing so as to permit the locking prong to move angularly about the pivot means.

  • Patent number: 4139928
Abstract: A slider for slide fasteners has a retaining member mounted on the slider body and having at one end a downwardly extending anchoring portion including a reduced neck and shoulders on opposite ends thereof, defining therebetween a pair of clamping recesses, and at the other end a vertically directed head. The upper shield of the slider body has a support lug and an aperture lying beneath the lug and engaging the head of the retaining member, the slider body having a vertical clamping groove defined by outwardly diverging side walls and a flat vertical end wall of the stock of the diamond of the slider body. The end wall is centrally vertically separated by a V-shaped recess and has a pair of horizontally projecting clamping lugs dimensioned to fit in the clamping recesses in the retaining member.

  • Patent number: 4130918
Abstract: A pull tab pivotally connected to a slider body is formed integral with a locking pawl which projects into the guide channel in the slider body through an aperture formed in its top wing. When the pull tab is turned to a recumbent position on the slider body, the locking pawl presses the fastener elements in the guide channel against the bottom wing of the slider body thereby locking the slider against movement. The point of contact of the locking pawl with the fastener elements is located forwardly of the axis of the pivotal motion of the pull tab when the latter is in the recumbent position. Further, when the pull tab is in the recumbent position, the tip of the locking pawl rests against an abutment on the inside surface of the top wing of the slider body.

  • Patent number: 4102022
Abstract: A pull tab releasable slider lock mechanism includes a leaf spring supported within a cover, which is fixedly mounted on the slider body, by having its opposite ends engaged in recesses formed in the opposed inside surfaces of the cover. A part of this leaf spring is formed into a resilient tongue which is engaged with a locking member to normally bias its terminal pawl into the guide channel in the slider body. In another embodiment, the resilient tongue of the leaf spring is integrated with the locking pawl, thereby dispensing with the separate locking member.
