    Abstract: In a dynamoelectric machine wherein cooling air is sent into spaces between magnetic poles of a salient pole type rotor in parallel with an axis of the rotor, an air chamber is provided in the vicinity of axial ends of the poles of the rotor and adapted to rotate the air therewithin together with the rotor, whereby the cooling air flows from the outside of the rotor through the air chamber into the spaces between the poles.
