  • Publication number: 20040051621
Abstract: The present invention provides a coil component includes: a coil section having a through hole and composed of a plurality of ring sections formed of a metallic flat plate disposed in a plane, connected to each other at ring connecting sections, having slits formed by cutting part of the ring sections, and bent at the ring connecting sections and placed one on top of another, terminals connected to the coil section, and a package member covering the coil section and projecting the terminals therefrom. With this structure, the coil component operates in a high-frequency region, ensuring an inductance and infinitesimal direct-current resistance while being adaptable to a large current, and can be miniaturized.

  • Publication number: 20040046626
Abstract: A coil component comprising; a coil 2 having a through-hole 1, a magnetic core including the coil, and a terminal 4, wherein magnetic core comprises a top portion 11 disposed at an upper part of the coil, a bottom portion 12 disposed at a lower part of the coil, and a middle portion 13. An outer layer thickness of the middle portion (W1) is less than a diameter of the through-hole, while the top portion and the bottom portion are higher in density than the middle portion. The configuration of the present invention provides a small size coil component with less occurrence of magnetic saturation to prevent lowering of inductance even with thin top portion 11 and bottom portion 12. The coil component further has improved reliability.

  • Patent number: 6014071
Abstract: A choke coil for preventing harmonic distortions having a plurality of laminated iron core sheets formed into a core. A first coil is wound around a first limb of a first core, and a second coil is wound around a first limb of a second core. A third coil is wound around the second limb of both the first core and the second core, and the second core is disposed within the magnetic circuit of the first magnetic core. The iron core sheets have embossments formed on a front and back side for fitting the iron core sheets together. The embossments have longitudinal sides formed orthogonally to the direction of magnetic fluxes in the core, and may be inwardly inclined to face each other.

  • Patent number: 5841335
Abstract: A choke coil for preventing harmonic distortions, used with home-use and industrial electronic apparatuses, is designed to reduce the apparatus size, reduce leakage fluxes and realize superior high-frequency characteristics. In order to achieve this object, there is provided a choke coil comprising a first magnetic core and a second magnetic core making up a closed magnetic circuit or an open magnetic circuit, a first coil, a second coil and a third coil, wherein the first coil is wound on the first magnetic core, the second coil is wound on the second magnetic core, and further the third coil is wound in such a manner as to cover the first magnetic core and the second magnetic core, and an inductance value required for preventing harmonic distortions is secured by the magnetic circuit configuration. At the same time, the function of a common-mode choke coil is provided to increase a coupling coefficient and reduce the system size and leakage fluxes.

  • Patent number: 5525951
Abstract: Two coils 3a, 3b are wound over adjacent portions of a first magnetic core having two closed magnetic circuits and a second magnetic core. The winding directions of the two coils are set so that the magnetomotive forces generated by both coils may cancel each other in the second magnetic core. The magnetic fluxes flowing in the first magnetic core decrease the higher harmonics of an input current of the power source circuit, while the magnetic fluxes flowing in the second magnetic core 2 decrease the noise between the line and the ground. That is, the choke coil performs the function of choke coil and the function of noise filter at the same time.
