  • Publication number: 20030148763
Abstract: An information delivery system includes a mobile terminal of a user, a home domain, and an access destination domain for a specific area to which the mobile terminal currently belongs. The access destination domain transmits a selected service data of a group of service data about the specific area to the mobile terminal when acquiring an identifier of the mobile terminal, and transmits a user personal data request with the identifier of the mobile terminal to the home domain. The home domain transmits user personal data corresponding to the identifier to the access destination domain in response to the user personal data request, and the user personal data indicates features of the user. The access destination domain updates statistic data based on the user personal data, and previously selects one of the group of service data as the selected service data based on the updated statistic data.

  • Patent number: 6446132
Abstract: In a radio communication system for transmitting data transmission through a current path between a radio client terminal and an information server connected to a wire communication network, the current path is switched to an alternative path which is connected to another information server by comparing each transmission time through the current and the alternative path with each other, when the transmission time through the alternative path is shorter than that through the current path. Such a path switching may be carried out under control of a management server.

  • Publication number: 20020062374
Abstract: A communications system is provided that can be easily manipulated by users and does not require service providers to expand the system. The communication system includes a server, a client terminal, and a communications network linking them. The client terminal has means for transmitting a user identifier to connect the client terminal to the server. In the server, a disconnection condition table stores a user identifier and a service user specified by the user identifier, in conjunction with protocol information regarding contracted disconnection. The disconnection condition related to a user identifier received when the server is connected to the client terminal is retrieved from the disconnection condition table. The connection status to the client terminal is monitored. It is decided whether or not the connection status corresponds to the retrieved disconnection condition. If yes, the client terminal is disconnected.

  • Publication number: 20010015975
Abstract: A system for monitoring packets transmitted on a channel (3) connecting an application server (8) and a user (1) of the application server (8) to each other, includes (a) a certification server (5) which certificates a user, and (b) a first device (6) which, on receipt of a request from the certification server (5), monitors packets transmitted on the channel (3). The certification server (5) includes a first memory (9) which stores a monitoring parameter designating a packet to be monitored, and a threshold parameter designating a method of monitoring the packet, and a second device (11) which transmits a request to the first device (6) to start or finish monitoring the packet. The first device includes an analyzer (16) which monitors a time at which packets coincident with the monitoring parameter arrive, and determines whether there is any rule in an interval in the arrival time, and an annunciator (17) which makes annunciation to the user when there is a certain rule in the interval.

  • Publication number: 20010002910
Abstract: A data communication system, which sends or receives data to or from an application server using the same protocol via a transmission line as one of a wire communication network, a wireless communication network, and both a wire communication network and a wireless communication network, comprises a table 14 containing therein a relation among a service identifier of the application server, a destination address, a communication network type, and a processing time of the application server; and a retransmission timer setting unit 16 which references the table to obtain the processing time of the application server based on the service identifier, destination address, and communication network type during transmission or reception of data to or from the application server and sets the time as a retransmission time.

  • Patent number: 6173184
Abstract: A network system for mobile radio communication includes a network constituted by a server unit and a client unit, a radio connection unit connected to a communication network, a public radio base station installed in a cell, and a mobile radio terminal which establishes a radio channel with the public radio base station while moving. The network system performs data communication between the server unit and the mobile radio terminal. Each of the server unit and the mobile radio terminal includes a buffer memory and an auxiliary storage unit which hold data.

  • Patent number: 6038515
Abstract: In a portable information terminal system including a CPU and peripheral circuits, there is provided a discharge quantity table for storing remaining power levels. Each of the remaining power levels is defined based on a state of the portable information terminal system as a system state and a voltage of a power supply. A voltage detecting unit detects the power supply voltage in response to a voltage detection request. A control section monitors the system state, and issues the voltage detection request in response to a voltage check request. The control section refers to the discharge quantity table based on the power supply voltage detected by the voltage detecting unit and the monitored system state to determine the remaining power level of the power supply.

  • Patent number: 5911030
Abstract: A video and audio editing system which eliminates failures in the fetching of video or audio data. The video and audio editing system also accounts for the silence which occurs at the top of audio data and the problems which arise when compressed video and audio data are reproduced simultaneously but not synchronously. The system includes a start time table and an end time table for storing a processing start time and a processing end time, respectively, for each scene to be fetched, a time lag inputting apparatus for inputting time lags in fetching of an external apparatus and an audio board, a table updating apparatus for updating contents of the start and end time tables based on the inputted time lags, and a controller for referring to the contents of the start and end time tables to control fetching start and end times of video data and audio data or control reading start and end times from the storage medium and fetching or reading out the audio data skipping silence data corresponding to the time lags.
