Abstract: A substituted pyridinesulfonamide compound or its salt represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A is CH or N; when A is CH, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be either each independently a member selected from the group consisting of unsubstituted or substituted alkyl groups, unsubstituted or substituted alkenyl groups, unsubstituted or substituted cycloalkyl groups, and unsubstituted or substituted phenyl groups; when A is N, R.sub.1 is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, R.sub.2 is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted alkoxy group; and X and Y are each independently a member selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups and alkoxy groups, is disclosed. This compound is useful as the effective ingredient of a herbicide showing a wide weed-control spectrum even if used in a small amount.

Abstract: A herbicidal composition is disclosed, comprising, as active ingredients, 1-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)-3-(3-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridylsulfonyl)ure a and an isopropylamine salt or trimethylsulfonium salt of N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine.

Abstract: Disclosed is a chemically stabilized herbicidal oil-based suspension, comprising N-[(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl) aminocarbonyl-3-dimethylaminocarbonyl-2-pyridinesulfonamide (nicosufluron) and/or its salt as an effective herbicidal component, urea, a vegetable oil and/or mineral oil, a surfactant and, as desired, an additional herbicidal component, a thickener, a solvent and other adjuvants. The present invention is characterized in that urea is added to a herbicidal oil-based suspension to suppress decomposition of the effective herbicidal component and to provide a chemically stabilized herbicidal oil-based suspension.

Abstract: A herbicidal composition is disclosed, comprising, as active ingredients, 1-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)-3-(3-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridylsulfonyl)ure a and an ammoium salf of homoalanin-4-yl(methyl)phosphinic acid.

Abstract: Novel substituted thiophenesulfonamide compounds useful as herbicides which are represented by the following formula, and salts thereof: ##STR1## wherein either one of X and Y is an ethenyl or propenyl group having all hydrogen atoms replaced by chlorine atoms and/or fluorine atoms, and the other is the group ##STR2## (wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each a methyl or methoxy group, and A is .dbd.N-- or .dbd.CH--).
