    Abstract: A voltage converting device includes an input circuit to rectify an AC input voltage, a voltage converter receiving the rectified input voltage, a specific connection of a switch, an inductor, a capacitor and two discharging diodes coupled between the input circuit and a primary-side winding of the voltage converter, and an output circuit coupled to a secondary-side winding of the voltage converter to output a DC output voltage. Through proper operation of the switch, the AC input voltage may be converted into the DC output voltage.
