  • Patent number: 5323998
Abstract: A seat slider mechanism consists of a U-shaped lower rail provided, on outer left and right sides, with a longitudinally oriented, downward facing first hook portion. An upper rail engages with the lower rail via a second, upward facing hook portion provided longitudinally on both left and right inner surfaces. A seat is mounted on the upper rail and a motor, or other source of driving force may be provided for moving the upper rail relative to the lower rail. The lower rail is secured by mounting brackets which are attached to end blocks by both rivets and welding.

  • Patent number: 5176353
Abstract: Movable and stationary rails are of complementary cross sections, the movable rail being generally C-shaped with grooved side wall portions, the stationary rail having an elongate flat upper plate whose side edge portions constitute guide edge portions. The side edge portions of the stationary rail are spacedly received in the grooved side wall portions of the movable rail. Metal rollers are disposed between major flat portions of the movable and stationary rails. A plastic slider is secured to each of the guide edge portions and so shaped as to be neatly and slidably received in the corresponding grooved side wall portion of the movable rail. The plastic slider has an opening through which an outside edge wall of the guide edge portion is exposed. A metal ball is rotatably received in the opening in such a manner that diametrically opposed ends thereof are contactable with the outside edge wall and an inner surface of the corresponding grooved side wall.

  • Patent number: 5144849
Abstract: A reduction gear is shown, which is designed to facilitate assembly of essential parts in a case. The reduction gear comprises a worm; a worm wheel meshed with the worm; a lower case part having a semicylindrical recess which rotatably receives the worm, and an upper case part to be mounted on the lower case part to close the semicylindrical recess. The semicylindrical recess has an opening which is so sized as to permit insertion of the worm into the semicylindrical recess therethrough. A threaded bore is formed in the lower case part, which is merged and aligned with the semicylindrical recess. A bolt is screwed into the threaded bore having its inside end pressed against one axial end of the worm for achieving a stable rotation of the worm in the semicylindrical recess.

  • Patent number: 5094420
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a power seat slide device which comprises a stationary rail member; a movable rail member axially slidably engaged with the stationary rail member, the movable rail member having an anchor portion to which an end of a seat belt is connected; a rack member extending along and secured to the stationary rail member having an axially extending slit defined therebetween; a pinion meshed with the rack member; a drive device mounted on the movable rail member to drive the pinion; and an embracing structure connected to the movable rail member and embracing the rack member in a manner to constitute a slidably interlocking connection therebetween, the embracing structure having opposed end portions by which the pinion is rotatably held, one of the opposed portions being passed through the axially extending slit.

  • Patent number: 4991460
Abstract: To reduce the longitudinal dimension of a multirange shift lever device for an automatic transmission, a guide plate is formed with a shift lever guide slot extending in both longitudinal and lateral directions of the vehicle, the shift lever pivotal motion in the longitudinal direction is directly transmitted via a pivotal motion transmitting mechanism (e.g. shaft) linked with the shift lever and that in the lateral direction is converted into the longitudinal direction pivotal motion by a pivotal motion converting mechanism (e.g. cam groove) linked with the shift lever.

  • Patent number: 4821991
Abstract: A seat slide device is disclosed which comprises a stationary rail having an angularly C-shaped cross section and a movable rail having a reversed T-shaped cross section. The movable rail is coupled with the stationary rail in such a manner that the enlarged head portion of the movable rail is spacedly received in the stationary rail thereby to define below the enlarged head portion a single elongate space in which rollers are rotatably received and above the enlarged head portion two parallel elongate spaces in which ball bearings are rotatably received. Inward sides of the stationary rail and the outward ends of the enlarged head portion of the movable rail are bent at generally right angles in order to hold the ball bearings in the two parallel elongate spaces.

  • Patent number: 4805866
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a powered seat slide device which comprises a threaded shaft which is neatly received in an elongate tunnel-like space defined between coupled movable and stationary rails and rotatably held by the movable rail, a nut which is received in the tunnel-like space to be operatively engaged with the threaded shaft and connected to the stationary rail. One end of the threaded shaft is projected from the tunnel like-space to form an exposed end. A gear mechanism incorporated with the exposed end of the threaded shaft for transmitting a power of an electric motor to the threaded shaft is arranged outside of the coupled rail unit.
