Abstract: An image processing apparatus for displaying a three-dimensional map on a display is disclosed that includes an extracting part for extracting data corresponding to a part of a road covered behind a three-dimensional building by referring to depth information of a target plotting road and a target plotting building, and an overwriting part for overwriting the data corresponding to the covered road part with color data or pattern data that are distinguishable from color data or pattern data of the target plotting road and the target plotting building.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus is disclosed. The image processing apparatus includes a unit that determines whether a distance between a view point and a two-dimensional object belongs to any of first through fourth areas which are classified in the order from a shortest distance to a longest distance, a unit that sets an image drawing size of the object on the display to be a maximum value when the distance is in the first area, a unit that sets the image drawing size of the object on the display to be a value which continuously changes from the maximum value to a minimum value corresponding to the distance when the distance is in the second area, a unit that sets the image drawing size of the object on the display to be a minimum value when the distance is in the third area, a unit that sets not to display the object on the display when the distance is in the fourth area, and a unit that two-dimensionally displays the object whose image drawing size is set on the display.

Abstract: A graphical system includes a first, second, and third controllers. The first controller stores a first texture in texture memory. The second controller generates as a second texture, images of environment things except ambient light emitting sources. The second controller also generates as a third texture images of light emitting sources and shadows of certain environmental things. A third controller reads the first, second, and third textures and maps a synthesized texture to an object.

Abstract: An image generating system and method can be provided which can express even more real luster on an object regarding the reflection of light sources.
