  • Patent number: 4512446
Abstract: A disc brake of pin-sliding caliper type having a boot protector including an extension of a liner disposed between a side end surface of a brake pad and an opposite torque receiving surface of a torque member movably supporting the brake pad toward and away from a friction surface of a disc rotor axially thereof. The boot protector protects from heat a boot covering an exposed portion of a slide pin which guides a caliper to urge the brake pad against the disc rotor. The protective extension of the liner extends along an axis of rotation of the rotor away from one end of the torque receiving surface remote from the rotor axially thereof, and is interposed between the boot and a heat source such as the brake pad and the rotor. The liner is preferably provided with a resilient section biasing the brake pad in a direction parallel to the surface of the disc rotor to thereby serve as an anti-rattle spring.

  • Patent number: 4466673
Abstract: In a hydraulic brake pressure control system of the load responsive type for wheeled vehicles, a load sensing member in the form of a leaf spring or a torque bar is engaged with a spring loaded valve piston of a hydraulic brake pressure control valve to exert a biasing force against the valve piston depending upon the wheel load. The load sensing member is formed at its intermediate portion with a plurality of curved portions bent back in a plane perpendicular to the bending action plane of the sensing member. Each intermediate portion defined by the curved portions acts as a torsional element.

  • Patent number: 4326607
Abstract: An anti-rusting structure of an adjust mechanism in a drum brake, which mechanism functions to compensate stroke increasing of the brake system due to wearing of the brake shoes, for preventing production of rust between an adjust bolt and an adjust nut by means of a skillful water proof device by facilitating the greasing between the two members of the adjust mechanism. In a portion of the adjust bolt where external thread (male screw) is formed, at least one lengthwise groove is axially formed, the length of which groove is determined such that the adjust bolt may not be pushed out by compressed air between the two members, even when the adjust bolt is threaded into the adjust nut by a predetermined amount of length, with sufficient grease being spread between the two members.

  • Patent number: 4133560
Abstract: A plug and its attaching hole for use in removably securing an accessory to a pressure container. This plug includes a head portion and a reduced diameter or shank portion continuous with the undersurface of the former. Build-up portions are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shank portion, while cut-away portions are provided in the peripheral edge of the plug-attaching hole defined in the wall of the pressure container. Upon insertion of the shank portion of the plug into the plug-attaching hole, the build-up portions formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shank portion of the plug are mated with the cut-away portions, and then the plug is turned through a given angle so that the build-up portions may engage the inner peripheral edge surface of the plug-attaching hole provided in the wall of the pressure container.
