  • Patent number: 5892743
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an optical disk reproducing method and apparatus which allows for influence on focus servo control and tracking servo control involved in outputting voice information. The optical disk reproducing apparatus includes an optical pickup, a tracking servo control for causing the optical pickup to trace a track on the optical disk, a focus servo control and a pair of speakers for outputting reproduced voice information to the outside. When an information determining unit determines that the reproduced information includes voice information, the tracking servo control and the focus servo control are operated so as to provide a servo characteristic suitable for reproduction of voice information by the speakers to thereby reproduce information in the optical disk.

  • Patent number: 5758039
Abstract: Upon issuance of a check, predetermined mark data are added to data and letters indicating an amount of money so as to be converted into new data and letters indicating the amount of money. Further, the printing capacity of a preset printing area on the check is compared with the volume of printing data to be printed, and a printing font to be used is selected in accordance with a result of the comparison. A separate template on which a plurality of initial printing positions and codes for indicating the initial printing positions are indicated is superposed with the check, and the corresponding code is inputted so as to designate an initial printing position. With this arrangement, it is possible to provide a small-sized printer which can enhance the visibility of the content printed on the check, can prevent the letters indicating an amount of money on the check from being raised so as to enhance the trust in banking transaction, and can easily set an optimum printing position.

  • Patent number: 5575575
Abstract: A small-sized printer includes a printing section equipped with a shuttle head in which impact-type printing units are arranged in juxtaposition in a sub-scanning direction, a cylindrical cam for reciprocating the shuttle head in the sub-scanning direction, and paper feeding rollers for feeding a standard sheet in a main scanning direction; an input device for inputting information; a display device for displaying information; a RAM for storing information; and a CPU for controlling the printing section, the input section, the display device and the RAM and performing calculation on information. The printing section and the paper feeding rollers are provided in a body case in such a way as to be exposed where they are opposed to a case cover, which has a flat platen and spring members at positions opposed to the printing section, and ribs adapted to come into contact with the standard sheet and serving as a positioning device and as a sliding guide.
