  • Publication number: 20050232414
Abstract: A block cipher method eliminates the overhead associated with key scheduling, decreases the required time for encryption or decryption, and increases the total throughput. A key scheduling circuit (12) for generating round key data from key data for the encryption or the decryption and a bank memory (13) for storing the round key data generated by the key scheduling circuit (12) at a predetermined bank of the bank memory are provided. An encrypting/decrypting circuit (11) is provided for encrypting plaintext data or decrypting ciphertext data upon receipt of the round key data stored in the bank and a block of the plaintext data or the ciphertext data one by one. The output of the encryption or the decryption is retrieved from the encrypting/decrypting circuit (11).

  • Publication number: 20050140527
Abstract: Information recording processor, information playback processor, method therefor, and information recording medium and component program used therewith are provided. In information recording and playback processors, when specific user control data includes additional data, bits in the specific user control data are set to be coincident with DC control bits in a DC-control-bit storage frame for specific user control data. When the user control data includes no additional data, the bits in the specific user control data are set to have values not coincident with the DC control bits in the Frame. Exclusive disjunction or exclusive non-disjunction of data in the specific user control data and the additional data is executed and calculated values are set as the values of the DC control bits in the Frame. The additional data is set based on correspondence between bit values of specific user control data in data to be recorded on a recording medium, and DC control bits set in the data.

  • Publication number: 20050123271
Abstract: In an information recording processor, component bits of additional data to be recorded on an information recording medium are stored in specific user control data. Pointer information representing row and column numbers used as identification information of the user control data is set as the values of DC control bits in a user-control-data-pointer-information-set recording frame selected from recording data. In an information playback processor, from the DC control bits in the recording frame, the row and column numbers of the user control data are acquired. The user control data is acquired and the additional data is acquired.

  • Publication number: 20050031123
Abstract: The present invention includes a plaintext memory 11 and an encryption/decryption circuit 13 for encrypting or decrypting original data in blocks. The original data is transferred to the plaintext memory 11 from the exterior. The transferred original data is supplied to the encryption/decryption circuit 13 and is subjected to encryption or decryption in blocks. The result data is substituted for the original data in the plaintext memory 11. When all transferred original data is substituted, the result data is externally output. Therefore, a variable-length block encryption circuit having a simplified structure and reducing the load on a host computer is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5100119
Abstract: A paper handing apparatus having a plurality of bins, a chuck unit and a stapler unit movable up and down along the bins, and a sorting unit. The sorting unit distributes a number of paper sheets received from a copier or similar image forming apparatus to the bins, while the stapler unit binds an end portion of each of the stacks of paper sheets loaded in the individual bins. The stapler is movable between and lockable at a position for binding a paper stack and a position for supplying staples. The stapler unit is removable from the sorting unit. Doors such as a stapler door are provided on the housing of the apparatus. When a door other than the stapler door is opened when the stapler is performing a stapling operation, the stapling operation is continued until it completes.

  • Patent number: 5064181
Abstract: A paper handling apparatus having a plurality of bins, a paper positioning device for positioning paper sheets which are sequentially distributed to the bins, and a stapler for stapling the paper sheets stacked on the bins. A controller causes the paper positioning device to position the paper sheets even after the latter has been stapled by the stapler.

  • Patent number: 5054766
Abstract: A paper positioning device having a paper positioning member which is pivotable in abutment against one edge of a paper sheet loaded on a receptacle for moving the paper sheet to a positioning position for thereby positioning the paper sheet. By a simple mechanism and control, the movement of the paper positioning member is slowed down at the positioning position and accelerated until the positioning member reachines it. The paper positioning member performs a pivoting movement twice while a drive shaft associated therewith performs a reciprocating movement once. The device is, therefore, no only durable but also positions paper sheets efficiently and positively without damaging the paper sheets.

  • Patent number: 5031890
Abstract: A paper handling apparatus for use with a copier, printer or similar equipment for sorting a number of paper sheets sequentially driven out of the equipment to prepare paper stacks and binding the paper stacks. The apparatus has a plurality of bins, a sorter for sequentially distributing the paper sheets to the individual bins, a mechanism for positioning the paper sheets distributed to the bins, and a stapler for stapling the paper sheets positioned on the bins. The sorter and the stapler are operable simultaneously with each other. The stapler acts on only those bins which are loaded with paper sheets associated with the last document without exception, while not acting on those bins which are loaded with paper sheets associated with the last document but are loaded with only a single paper sheet. The bin on which the stapler is to act is located at least two bins above the bin where the paper sheets are to be positioned.

  • Patent number: 5024430
Abstract: A paper handling apparatus having a plurality of bins and a chuck unit and a stapler which are movable along the bins and causing the stapler to bind an end portion of a stack of paper sheets which have been received from a copier or similar image forming apparatus, sorted, and then loaded on any one of the bins. The chuck unit has an upper and a lower chuck. After the stapler has bound a stack of paper sheets a push bar independent of the chucks of the chuck unit pushes the end of the stack to return it into the bin. Both the upper and lower chucks are movable up and down. The force which the chucks exert on a stack of paper sheets is controlled in matching relation to the thickness of the stack.
