  • Patent number: 7489235
Abstract: A data collection controller 4 to and from which a removable memory 12 can be attached and removed is mounted on a vehicle 1, and is connected to a predetermined data storage 3. In the data collection controller, driver codes, service route codes, and the like can be entered with code setting buttons 8 and 9, while these code data and data in the predetermined data storage can be downloaded with a download button 7 into the removable memory. The downloading is performed every time the driving of the vehicle is completed. The removable memory is collected when a predetermined time period (for example, one month) has elapsed. Driving information for each driver and each service route is analyzed based on the data recorded in the collected removable memory.

  • Patent number: 4745257
Abstract: A laser welding method and apparatus for welding stacked coated members in which voids in the welds are positively eliminated. A spacer is disposed between the two members to be welded. This provides a path for discharging gas formed by heating the coating material. The method and apparatus of the invention are useful for the laser welding of base members coated with metals having a lower melting point than the metal of the base, paints and oils. Preferably, the width of the gap is in a range of 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm.

  • Patent number: 4506145
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the preheating of a diesel engine in which a preheating plug is rapidly brought to starting temperature so that the engine be substantially instantaneously started. Each preheating plug in each of the cylinders of the engine has a heater body having a resistance which varies with temperature changes but which is sufficiently small that the heater body would melt if a predetermined rated voltage were continuously applied thereto. When the starter switch of the engine is in the engine accessory position, so long as the detected temperature of the heater body is below an upper preheating temperature, the rated voltage is applied directly to the heater body. When the temperature of the heater body reaches the upper temperature, the heater body is disconnected from the battery. In the engine starting position of the starter switch, the quick heating circuit is disconnected and the heater body is coupled to the battery through a stabilizer resistor.

  • Patent number: 4313938
Abstract: Double-stranded RNA synthesized using native human DNA as template is found to be an excellent interferon inducer with low toxicity in spite of homologous native to host cell. It is produced by reacting ATP, GTP, CTP and UTP with one another in the presence of a native human DNA as template by the catalytic action of an active RNA polymerase to form RNA and subjecting the resulting RNA to annealing by heating it at a temperature of 70.degree. to 100.degree. C. and gradually cooling to room temperature or below to form double-stranded regions between their molecules.
