Abstract: Herbicidal compositions containing as the active ingredients (one or more compounds selected from among light-induced herbicidal compounds and one or more compounds selected from among organoposphorus herbicidal compounds, characterized by containing ethylenediamine alkoxylates and alcohol alkoxylates as surfactants. These herbicidal compositions have an excellent rapid action and exert a remarkable herbicidal effect in a small dose.

Abstract: A composition for regulating plant growth which comprises as an active ingredient(s) at least one 3-substituted phenylpyrazole derivative represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## and acts as a desiccant or defoliant for root vegetables (e.g. potato), fiber crops (e.g. cotton), oil crops (e.g. soybean and sunflower) and cereals (e.g. rice); and a method for applying said composition.

Abstract: A herbicidal composition for upland farming which can control weeds that have been difficult to control, for example, cleavers, chickweed, birdseye speedwell and violet, said composition containing as active ingredients a 3-substituted phenylpyrazole derivative represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein R is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, a C.sub.3-6 cycloalkyl group, a C.sub.1-6 haloalkyl group, a C.sub.2-6 alkenyl group or a C.sub.2-6 alkynyl group, R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, X.sup.1 and X.sup.2, which may be the same or different, are halogen atoms, and Y is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom) and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of sulfonylurea derivatives, phenylurea derivatives and phenoxy fatty acid derivatives; and a weeding method using said composition.

Abstract: A 3-(substituted phenyl)pyrazole derivative or a salt thereof, the derivative being represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein, X denotes halogen, R.sup.1 denotes lower alkyl, R.sup.2 denotes halogen and R.sup.3 denotes lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or benzyl group, a process for producing said pyrazole derivative, a herbicidal composition containing said pyrazole derivative as an active ingredient, and a method of controlling weeds by applying said composition.

Abstract: There are disclosed a (3-substituted phenyl)pyrazole derivative represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and X are various substituents and a salt thereof, and its production process. Said pyrazole derivative or its salt is useful as a herbicide for controlling various injurious weeds.

Abstract: Novel cyclohexane-1,3-dione derivatives represented by 2-{1-(3-chloro-2-propenyloxyimino)propyl}-5-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)cycl ohexane-1,3-dione and intermediates thereof are disclosed. The cyclohexane-1,3-dione derivatives have a potent herbicidal effect against a wide variety of weeds and can selectively control injurous weeds at lower dosages. A process for preparing the cyclohexane-1,3-dione derivatives is also disclosed.
