  • Patent number: 5728011
Abstract: Disclosed is a thread wound golf ball comprising a center, a thread rubber layer formed by winding a thread rubber around the center and a cover formed on the thread rubber layer, wherein the thread rubber is obtained by cutting, into a suitable width, a rubber sheet for thread rubber which is obtained by vulcanizing a raw rubber sheet for thread rubber using a pressure rotary drum type continuous vulcanizing device.

  • Patent number: 5059268
Abstract: A method for applying a tire material such as carcass ply to a building drum in a tire building process wherein the cut leading end of the ply is caused to pressure-adhere onto the building drum by a leading-end applying and pressure-adhering roller. The building drum is caused to rotate at an angle less than one rotation, and thereafter the ply is cut by the cutter mechanism, and the building drum is further rotated to join the cut trailing end of the ply with the cut leading end, while the roller is pressure-adhering the cut trailing end of the ply against the building drum.

  • Patent number: 4738743
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a tire material such as carcass ply to a molding drum in a tire molding process wherein the cut leading end of the ply is caused to pressure-adhere onto the molding drum by a leading-end applying and pressure-adhering roller. The molding drum is caused to rotate at an angle less than one rotation, and thereafter the ply is cut by the cutter mechanism, and the molding drum is further rotated to join the cut trailing end of the ply with the cut leading end, while the roller is pressure-adhering the cut trailing end of the ply against the molding drum.

  • Patent number: 4470866
Abstract: A rubber sheet bonding apparatus useable particularly in forming tires, for supplying an unvulcanized rubber sheet (11) to a forming drum (1) to bond it around the outer peripheral surface of the drum (1) and to form a joint at a portion along the periphery thereof so that the rubber sheet (11) is formed cylindrical, in which in order to prevent incomplete joints due to contraction of the rubber sheet (11), the front portion of the rubber sheet (11) is stretched by a given amount and after that, the rubber sheet (11) is supplied to the drum (1) and wound around a major portion of the entire periphery of the drum (1), and then the trailing rubber sheet portion is cut such that the trailing rubber sheet portion is equal in length to the remaining portion of the periphery of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4448627
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for applying mainly a thin rubber sheet, such as an inner liner or insulation, onto a tire making drum, which is used in a series of raw tire making processes. The apparatus can realize a proper applying of the sheet in such a manner that the rubber sheet, not previously cut to a specified length although it is longer than the circumference of the drum, is pressed at the foremost end onto the tire making drum, is applied thereto in a length corresponding to about one circumference of the drum through rotary control thereof, is thereafter cut automatically to the specified length, and is subsequently applied at the rear end of the cut sheet onto the drum.
