  • Patent number: 10715691
Abstract: An image forming apparatus of an internal ejection type in which a sheet ejection space is provided between an image reader and an image former, the image forming apparatus includes: an illuminator provided on a wall surface partitioning the sheet ejection space; a detector that detects a position of a work target enabled to move in pulling-out and storing directions within the sheet ejection space; and a controller that performs on/off control of the illuminator depending on a detection position of the detector, wherein in a case where it is detected that the work target is in a work position for performing human work, the controller performs on/off control of the illuminator to illuminate a work target portion that faces an interior of the sheet ejection space of the work target and is subjected to the human work.

  • Patent number: 10582079
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a main hardware processor capable of controlling a first snapshot data acquisition process of storing to-be-saved information regarding the image forming apparatus as first snapshot data in a non-volatile storage device in response to a turn-off operation of a main power switch, and a sub hardware processor capable of monitoring an operating state of the main power switch in a power-saving state of the image forming apparatus. After the turn-off operation is detected in the power-saving state, the main hardware processor starts a return process of causing the state of the image forming apparatus to return from the power-saving state. When a turn-on operation of the main power switch is detected after the turn-off operation is detected in the power-saving state and before the return process is completed, the sub hardware processor resets the main hardware processor in response to the turn-on operation.

  • Patent number: 9781303
Abstract: A terminal device writes authorization information into a storing unit of an image processing apparatus irrespective of whether power is supplied to the image processing apparatus. A control unit of the image processing apparatus starts the image processing apparatus, performs user authorization using the authorization information, and enters a standby state upon start of supply of power by a power supply unit in the case where the authorization information is written. The control unit starts the image processing apparatus and enters the standby state without performing the user authorization upon the start of supply of power by the power supply unit in the case where the authorization information is not written. When the terminal device writes the authorization information into the storing unit with the image processing apparatus being supplied with power, the control unit performs the user authorization.

  • Patent number: 8717590
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, when a first state (which allows a process of accepting a job involving image processing) continues over a shift timer period without reception of an execution request for the job, a state control part performs an operation of shifting from the first state to a second state (which is lower in power consumption than the first state). Moreover, in a case where job acceptance started in the second state on the basis of a first execution request is failed and job acceptance started in the second state on the basis of a second execution request is also failed, the shift timer period is extended on the basis of a differential value of a difference between a first execution request reception time and a second execution request reception time, and a third execution request for the job in the first state is awaited.

  • Publication number: 20100241541
Abstract: An authentication printing function is performed in a multi function peripheral (MFP). A user transmits a job from a PC to the MFP, and then performs card authentication by bringing cards close to an authentication device. Authenticated-user information is transmitted to the MFP, where the authenticated users are registered. A print job is generated, and a billing scenario is generated in which a charge is allocated among the plurality of authenticated users on the basis of a billing pattern. When the billing scenario is approved by the user, the job is executed, and the authenticated users are each billed for the charge allocated thereto on a per-page or per-set basis, in accordance with the billing scenario. Accordingly, a billing device for an image processing device which can allocate a charge among a plurality of users without the need of complicated operations is provided.
