Patent number: 5456929Abstract: Liquid contents such as water are stored in a heat-resisting can body having an openable section formed on an upper part thereof. Other material is stored within the can body while being separated from the liquid contents and, when the can body is heated above a predetermined temperature with the openable section opened, the separation between the stored material and the liquid is removed and the liquid can come in contact with the stored material. When the openable section is closed while the can body is heated, the stored material is kept separate from the liquid even during a sterilizing process but, when the can body is heated with the openable section opened, the separation between the stored material and the liquid is removed, and consequently the contents are mixed together. This permits the stored material to be preserved from the liquid until the contents of the can body are ready for use.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1993Date of Patent: October 10, 1995Assignee: Tokai CorporationInventors: Hideo Mifune, Tomio Nitta, Tsutomu Shike

Patent number: 5326256Abstract: A gas reservoir, a valve mechanism for controlling gas supply from the reservoir and a piezoelectric unit are incorporated into a body portion assembly. A rod portion is formed by connecting a hard gas pipe to a gas injection nozzle provided in a tip of a rod-like metal tubular member and electrically connecting the gas injection nozzle on one end of the gas pipe and a terminal member on the other end of the same by way of a wire which extends through the gas pipe. The body portion assembly and the rod portion are assembled into a unit by engaging the base portion of the rod portion with an engagement portion of the body portion assembly, thereby connecting the gas pipe in the rod portion to the valve mechanism in the body portion assembly and electrically connecting the metal tubular member in the rod portion to the piezoelectric unit in the body portion assembly.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: Tokai CorporationInventors: Tsutomu Shike, Toshihiko Eguchi, Masaki Saito

Patent number: 5322433Abstract: An igniting device has a gas reservoir 7, a valve mechanism 8, and a gas pipe 28 for leading fuel gas to a gas injection nozzle 26. A piezoelectric unit 20 generates a discharge voltage for producing an electric spark between the gas injection nozzle 26 and a discharge electrode 32 which is disposed near the gas injection nozzle. A covered wire 33 for electrically connecting the nozzle 26 with the piezoelectric unit 20 extends through the gas pipe 28 to reduce the effective cross-sectional area of the gas passage inside the gas pipe 28 with a high reliability and ease.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1992Date of Patent: June 21, 1994Assignee: Tokai CorporationInventors: Tsutomu Shike, Toshihiko Eguchi, Masaki Saito

Patent number: 5298207Abstract: A method for producing a filter for use in a fuel flow rate regulating mechanism has a first step of providing a sheet of microcellular polymer material having upper and lower surfaces, each of the surfaces being fused to prevent fuel flow through the surfaces. The sheet of microcellular polymer material also has formations of continuous air bubbles between the upper and lower surfaces. The method for producing a filter has a second step of heat pressing in the direction of thickness to rearrange certain of the air bubbles, redefining same as independent, nonconnected air bubbles. The method for producing a filter has a third step of transversely punching from the sheet a filter element of prescribed configurations.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1992Date of Patent: March 29, 1994Assignee: Tokai CorporationInventors: Hideo Mifune, Masato Seki, Tsutomu Shike

Patent number: 5284439Abstract: An igniting device has a valve mechanism (8) which controls fuel supply from a gas reservoir, a gas injection nozzle (26) provided on a tip of a rod-like portion projecting from the valve mechanism(8) and a discharge electrode (32) which is disposed in the vicinity of the gas injection nozzle (26) and produces discharge spark to ignite the fuel gas discharged from the nozzle. A nozzle cover (30) made of non-conductive material is provided around the gas injection nozzle (26). The nozzle cover (30) is provided with a front end face (31a) disposed in front of the nozzle at a distance therefrom. The front end face (31a) is cut away at a portion opposed to the gas injection nozzle (26) and a portion opposed to the discharge electrode (32) to form an opening.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1992Date of Patent: February 8, 1994Inventors: Tsutomu Shike, Toshihiko Eguchi, Masaki Saito

Patent number: 5206062Abstract: A vessel for aerosol is manufactured by a high-nitryl resin which is formed by graft polymerizing a mixture of monomers of a 60 to 90 weight part comprising an unsaturated nitryl compound of at least 60 weight % and an aromatic vinyl compound of at least 5 weight % to diene synthetic rubber of a 1 to 40 weight part containing a conjugated diene monomer of 50 weight % or more, wherein assuming that a content of the unsaturated nitryl compound in the resin grafted to the rubber is set to X weight % in the high-nitryl resin and a content of the unsaturated nitryl compound in the matrix resin is set to Y weight %, the vessel is manufactured by the resin which satisfies the relation of60<X<Y<90between X and Y.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1992Date of Patent: April 27, 1993Assignees: Mitsui Toatsu Chemicals, Inc., Kabushiki Gaisha TokaiInventors: Hideo Amemiya, Minoru Kuroda, Tsutomu Shike, Mikio Minagawa

Patent number: 5186619Abstract: A flow regulating mechanism for a gas emitting device featuring a microcellular polymer filter having connected, continuous bubbles through which fuel passes and independent air bubbles which expand with increases in temperature compressing and thereby restricting the flow of fuel through the connected, continuous bubbles.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1991Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Assignee: Tokai CorporationInventors: Hideo Mifune, Masato Seki, Tsutomu Shike

Patent number: 5186618Abstract: A gas lighter with a safety device has a lock member which is able to linearly move between a locking position where it prevents depression of a valve lever and a releasing position where it allows depression of the valve lever and is urged to the locking position. A holding member hold the lock member in the releasing position in response to movement of the lock member to the releasing position, and a releasing member releases the lock member from the holding member in response to depression of the valve lever, thereby permitting the lock member to move away from the releasing position. A temporary holding member temporarily holds the lock member in the releasing position or the vicinity thereof until the valve lever returns to the original position.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1991Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Assignee: Tokai CorporationInventors: Tsutomu Shike, Toshihiko Eguchi, Yosimitu Kaga, Kazuhiko Suganuma

Patent number: 5145358Abstract: A piezoelectric gas lighter has an actuator cap which is mounted on an upper part of a lighter body to be movable up and down between upper and lower positions relative to the lighter body and is urged to the upper position. The actuator cap is depressed toward the lower position to discharge fuel gas stored in a reservoir provided in the lighter body and to actuate an ignition mechanism to ignite the fuel gas.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1991Date of Patent: September 8, 1992Assignee: Tokai CorporationInventors: Tsutomu Shike, Toshihiko Eguchi, Nobuo Yamazaki
