  • Patent number: 7431329
Abstract: Expansion of an air bag can be smoothly effected even in a small space by controlling the air bag in thickness and introduction of the gas for expansion, and the protection of an occupant can be rapidly implemented with a relatively small volume of the gas.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 24, 2005
Date of Patent: October 7, 2008
Assignees: Mazda Motor Corporation, Ashimori Industry Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Seigo Taguchi, Katsuyoshi Ishigame, Tsutomu Sugahara, Naoki Yamaji, Hidetaka Azuma
  • Publication number: 20060267318
Abstract: An inflatable airbag, which inflates and comes out from a side portion of a seat back, comprises a head-protection portion and a torso-protection portion which are formed separately. A volume of the head-protection portion for protecting an occupant's head is configured to be greater than that of the torso-protection portion for protecting at least an occupant's chest. A tether connecting the both airbag portions can provide a proper forward inflation of the head-protection portion, suppressing an upward inflation of the head-protection portion. An arrangement of a vent hole or a coating layer can make an inflation sustaining period of the head-protection portion longer than that of the torso-protection portion in the inflated condition.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 9, 2006
    Publication date: November 30, 2006
    Applicant: MAZDA MOTOR CORPORATION
Inventors: Satoshi Nishikaji, Katsuyoshi Ishigame, Tsutomu Sugahara, Seigo Taguchi

  • Patent number: 5219743
Abstract: The primary hydroxy group of Corey lactone diols is optically selectively acylated to obtain the desired optically active ester and/or diol. The mixture of Corey lactone diols of formulae (Ia) and (Ib): ##STR1## is reacted with an acylating agent optically selectively in the presence of an enzyme and/or a microorganism thereby to acylate, isolate and purify the primary alcohol.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 15, 1993
    Assignee: Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd.
    Inventors: Seiichi Takano, Tsutomu Sugahara
