  • Publication number: 20010015628
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a plasma display device that enables high-luminosity display while keeping consumption of power low. After causing reset discharge to form a wall charge in the dielectric layer of all discharge cells of a plasma display panel, pixel data are written by causing selective erasure discharge to erase, in accordance to pixel data corresponding to an input video signal, the wall charge formed in each discharge cell, and sustaining pulses, with a voltage value of at least 200 volts, are applied alternately to each row electrode of each row electrode pair of the plasma display panel to repeatedly cause sustained discharge to occur only in discharge cells having residual wall charge.

  • Patent number: 6262699
Abstract: A method of driving a plasma display panel reduces an address write cycle and also realizing a stable high definition, high-quality display without erroneous discharge. In the light emission by driving the plasma display panel having plural pairs of row electrodes and plural column electrodes arranged so as to cross these pairs of row electrodes and forming discharge cells at intersections of the pairs of row electrodes and the column electrodes, ones of the pairs of row electrodes are divided into first and second row electrode groups, and a scan pulse is applied to one row electrode of the second row electrode group just after applying the scan pulse to one row electrode of the first row electrode group.

  • Patent number: 6117035
Abstract: A toothed belt includes a front rubber layer having teeth formed in the front rubber layer. A plurality of short fibers are entirely distributed in the front rubber layer. A first side of the front rubber layer is covered with a cover fabric. A back rubber layer contacts a second side of the front rubber layer. A plurality of cord elements extend along a length of the belt and are interposed between the front rubber layer and the back rubber layer in such a manner that a portion of each cord element is embedded in the front rubber layer, and the remaining portion of each cord element is embedded in the back rubber layer.

  • Patent number: 5995069
Abstract: A plasma display panel has a plurality of pairs of row electrodes, each pair comprising a first row electrode and a second row electrode, and a plurality of data electrodes which intersect with the row electrodes. A first row electrode driver having driving circuit means is provided for driving each of the first row electrodes, and a second row electrode driver is provided for driving each of the second row electrodes. A driving power source is provided for driving the driving circuit means in the first row electrode driver, and an offset voltage applying means is provided for applying an offset voltage to the driving power source so that the first row electrode driver produces a first priming pulse having a first voltage which is applied to the first row electrode. A scanning pulse is produced after the priming pulse having a second voltage different from the first voltage, which is also applied to the first row electrode.

  • Patent number: 5963184
Abstract: A method for driving a matrix type of plasma display panel displaying an image with a stable display operation in error-discharge free. The last pulse of the discharge-sustaining pulses in the sustained discharge period is adjusted to be shorter than that of the immediately previous pulse of the discharge-sustaining pulses and/or an address-pulse is applied to the column electrode in the simultaneous time of the applying of the discharge-sustaining pulses to generate the discharge between the paired row and column electrodes. The residual wall charges remaining the lightened pixel cell and the darkened pixel cell are uniformed at the end of sustained discharge period so that a stable addressing operation and precise emission displaying associated with the pixel data is achieved in the next addressing period.
